Hey ladies, sorry I've been MIA. Been super busy at work and busy here at home. We got 3 1/2" of rain with the first go round, and almost 1/2" of rain last night. Suns been out at times today, then it will cloud up and look like rain again. I turned off the AC and put on my warm ups today!

I've had my first chicken injury. Seems like someone was getting "pecking" happy yesterday, and some of the tail feathers off of my "eagle" were pecked off yesterday. I put on some blu kote and put her in isolation overnight. She was NOT a happy camper! I think she paced the front of the brooder all night. She didn't eat a thing. I put on some more blu kote and let her out this morniing. They were not bothering her much, so decided to keep her out and see how it goes. If I notice them pecking on her much, she'll have to go back in.

Hope everyone's having a good day today. I'm fixing beef soup for supper. I don't usually make it in May, only during the colder months, LOL.

Guys, if you don't hear from me tomorrow you will know what has happened. My son's girlfriend just left. She was getting her car inspected when the mechanics popped the hood on the car next to her. There was a kitten in the engine. She brought the kitten out to me. It is about 6-7 weeks old. O dear......my husband is due home in an hour.....O dear....

How are your chickens doing? I bet they are getting big! Mine are, need to get new pics. They don't look like chicks any more. They look big enough to lay.


Checked on my hen pecked EE, she's seems to be doing fine. I noticed a couple chickens would look at her tail feathers, but not bother it. Guess the blu kote is doing it's job!

Crazy weather we are having. At least we are getting wet stuff. Still need lots more.

My tree broke yesterday. Nathan was very lucky it decided to fall into the street and not onto his car on the driveway.



The city was here to clear it away within 10 minutes. I hope I don't lose anymore of my trees.

Here is a healthy recipe I want to try. It sounds pretty good. I haven't ever tried quinoa but it sounds like it has a lot of health benefits to it.

Well this morning I see that my luck with chickens is going to be on par with the rest of things in my life are. About 6 weeks ago my picked up some chicks at Atwood that she said that they was EE. I said I did not think so but hay why not. Found out after we got home and showed pics on here they where gold sebright bantams so for then next week we went to Atwoods to add to the 2 we had gotten. We ended up with 6 chicks. This morning I am sitting watching them play in the brooder and it hit me out of the 6 I have 5 roosters and 1 hen. Yep my luck is right on par!!!
