Texas BYC Cafe

I know what you mean. I was not on here last Saturday for 10 hours when I got back there was over 120 post. I thought I talked a lot on here but there is one person who has over 1,100 post and only been on site for about 5 weeks! I see people who has been on here for years not have that many. Just saying!!!

Good Morning,
I am new to this chicken thing and have been stalking BYC for about 8 weeks. I am from El Paso. I have a mixed breed group of 5 hens or I hope all hens. They are all 6 weeks and a few days old. Hope to be able to post pics from home later maybe. They are all on my phone. Having fun with my girls and the personalities are great. Hope to keep them around for years to come(if hubby agrees to be the crazy chicken guy to my crazy chicken lady). Hope y'all have a great day!

Welcome! This is a great thread, hope to see ya around!

Just popping for a quick "hey"! Busy, busy week at work this week, fixing to shower and head to bed but wanted to check in right quick and see how everyone is doing.

Has anyone heard from A1mom? Hope she's doing ok.

We got some heavy rain here. Rained very hard on me on the way home from work. I was driving about 40 mph with the wipers on high. Hate driving in rain!

Hope everyone has a great day tomorrow. Don't forget this weekend is Mother's Day! :)

I want some too but shady flowers won't do well and there is too much shade for sunny flowers. :( Meh

That is the Australian price. I don't think you can get those in the USA. I'd like a dual fuel like that one. I'd like one gas oven to go with the electric ovens.

Shouldn't have to. All the bad stuff blew past us. :) But we got more RAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
There was some purple flowering sage, big bushy things, at Lowes I thought would go pretty well with my boring house colors. Lol
I spazzed early about nothing. I just the being alone with the kids during bad weather. Turned out my husband got the night off anyway, so it worked out nicely.

Repairman is coming again today. SHOULD have an oven tonight!!

We haven't heard from her either :(
And yeah, I have a hard time keeping up over there.

Oh my gosh!
I had a dream a possum got into my mudroom (where my spoiled birds sleep) and ate my lil Silkie boy.
Freaked me out!

Time to 'possum-proof' the mud room.

Good luck on getting your oven fixed. I would go crazy if i didn't have mine.

Lisa :)
Lol, I didn't even think we HAD possums here until the other day when I saw one on the side of the road.

I've been DYING...all those holidays with no baking! I've gone through Christmas and 2 birthdays, and Valentines...and Easter.
It's fixed now!!!

Guess who's going to have a bake-a-thon this weekend?

I couldn't bake over the holidays due to my hand surgery and that just about killed me. I love to bake. People know to come running when I am in the kitchen. I am happy you have your oven back. Make sure you note how much weight you and family have lost because you weren't baking!!!

My neighbors get to eat what I bake. I share so I don't get fluffy. I see it as a win win. I get to bake and they get treats. Keeps me in the favourite neighbour status. :)

It is warm and humid here today. I am really glad I turned on the a/c before I left for my ride today. We did get almost 1 inch of rain yesterday so I won't complain about the humidity. Everything looks so happy and fresh. I love how things look after a rain. :)

My son bought his very first truck (with a loan) Wednesday night. He found a 2012 Toyota Tacoma TRD at the dealership near us that was exactly what he was looking for (even the colour!). It only had 23K miles on it too. I called the guy we always deal with there and he got it all ready for us to look at. Trevor drove it and put money down to save it so we could look into financing and come back to finish up the paper work later. The salesman had to do some stuff and be out of the office for a bit too. Twenty-five minutes after we left a guy from the Ford side (we were at the Subaru side) came and asked for the truck. He said he had sold it. Too bad for him, it was being held for Trevor! The guy was ticked!! Trevor qualified for the loan without a co-signer and now has he dream truck. He got a sweet deal on it too thanks to them pricing it wrong on-line (too low!). He is only 22. I am so proud of that kid.
