Texas Hay!

Sold 40 Bales mixed fescue/lesbidiza/red clover to my cousin that lives near Austin. He rented a truck and drove to my place in Missouri to pick them up.

I just sold my last 500 square bales(alfalfa timothy mix) to a horseman in TX,he sent semi's and trucked it down there himself.I got $9 a bale

Yet I drive by not one, but three new car washes under construction. I have neighbors who have run their wells dry since last year. Businesses run their auto sprinklers poorly installed with the water running right into the road and down the sewer. Hello Perry, anybody home??

Just saw an ad on Craigslist, high quality rounds 195.00!!!!!!!! There's no way I could continue to raise market animals if hay was that high. What's really going to be bad is when beef prices shoot sky high because so many producers are selling out now because they can't afford the hay. Then the ones that do stay in the price of production is way up, so beef will be a real treat. Texas beef that is

Then there is the horse market. Sad sad. People are dumping them, prices are so low. Anybody in the market for a nice horse at cheap price come to Texas.

There's a guy down the road that goes to auctions and buys up all the horses that don't sell for like $20 a head. He'll bid on every horse there until the bid hits $50. He brings home several every time he goes and then tries to resell them for $100 which is still really cheap but he's still making a profit.

Now, you might think that that still doesn't make sense because he has to buy feed and hay....no he sure doesn't. They are on a small 20 acre lot with way too many animals and not enough grass

And my white trash neighbor still won't sell me the horse that he feeds sometimes, cares for sometimes. I started crying the other day when I drove past their place. There's absolutely nothing in the horses pasture for him to eat. The poor creature was pressing into the barbed wire fence just as hard as he could to reach grass on the outside of his pasture. I noticed he had chewed the grass down completely around on the outside of the fence. Offered them $500, which would go a long ways towards dressing their kids better than in the rags I usually see them in, guy won't sell.
