I hope you don't take this the wrong way, but are Nubians good for eating as well?

ETA I just looked up Nubians and I think I may go with those. They seem to be good with heat, good milk producers and large enough to be a good meat producer. Has anyone ever tasted Nubian goat meat?

all goats make for good eating.. well.. if you like goat..
when I worked at the dairy we wethered (band castrated) all the excess bucklings and sold them as BBQ goats..

the only difference between a dairy goat and a meat goat is that the meaties will fatten up a teeny bit faster.. and the dairy goats give a lot more milk

oh.. and X10,000 on the nubians.. they were my breed of choice because of the higher butterfat.. I can still make cheese from the Saanen's ,milk.. it just won't have as much cream or fat in it... which is why I SUPPOSED to be adding a little Nubian buckling to the herd in May (supposed to.. assuming the woman hasn't lost my contact info and sold the boys to someone else)!

Good Morning!

Dinner is such a little brat. I went out there to video him crowing....and he preens and poses and then settles down. I come back inside and sit down......he starts crowing again.

I'm feeling much better. My husband, however, is getting hit about 10x worse than I did. Thank you for asking.

I have been looking around at the Nubians and they are beautiful. Though all I seem to be able to find are show goats and I am not really intending to show them. Does anyone have information on Nubians that aren't show quality for sale?

Yeah, I am really wanting to push getting the goats a little quicker because of all the weeds and sticker plants and overgrown areas. I figured at least for the first month or so I wouldn't have to buy feed. Lol. There is a lot of brush.

The stomach bug made rounds here about a month ago. It was awful, both of us needing the toilet at the same time! I did a lot of mopping...
