Sorry for your lose, hope thats the end of it.
Roos like this is why we love our mutts, he's very hansome

Thanks guys. I hope the rest make it - I don't want to be callous about the ones that died but I am glad it wasn't the black and splash marans - they're my favorites in color and temperament. I still have one wheaten marans and one EE pullet in the mix too. If I lose any of these BBS marans ill be devastated.

This is one of the splash pullets, she sat on my lap for a while and let me pet her. None of my others of any breed have just chilled with me like this.

Not chicken related, but we had a very cool moment a little earlier this afternoon that I feel the need to gush about. A very brief rain shower blew through and afterwards we had a rainbow form right by our house. It's a little hard to see in this pic, but the end of the rainbow was literally touching down in our back pasture.

We took our kids "rainbow huntin" on the four wheeler, trying to see if we could catch the rainbow. Good memories made today. :)

It took me a minute but I found it. So awesome!

Isn't your bird a blue?

The two, below, in the foreground are splash. Wheaten cockerel behind.

I thought it looked blue too, on the BBS thread someone said splash... Or maybe I misread.

Whatever they are they are my favorite :) one is really dark so I think it might be black.

They have a ton of white, if I spread out their wings.

I have a ? On the east side of my coop is a larg window, and my chicks that are 8weeks old will not get on it at night, why is that? Does anyone know?
