The banty chicken coop, built by me and my two nephews.

A wonderful char siu...

Mama cat and her half of the babies. Her sister had some more but refused to care for them. So this mama kitty is now caring for all the kittens. She's doing pretty good.

The remnants of a fried banty rooster.

The bantam rooster, Bill, on top of the fence.

My turkeys and my turken. Sorry I am rather fluffy in this pic. It's not a good one of me at all but the birds look good.

One of the 35 bears for this order of bears. Ithought it was cute.

I am here in Burleson - Just south of Ft. Worth.  13 pullets & one little man named Pecker.  Girl child named that poor bird when it was a week old....  Little did we know she was right about him!  We have been at this since April of this year.  We hope to go organic in feeding our little herd.  Anyone else out there feeding organic?  Not the easiest way.  Ordered my first bag of food.  $30 for a 50 pound sack of feed.  I don't know if it will really be worth it.  But I have people already wanting eggs once the girls get to work.  Up to $5.00 a dozen.

I just found soy free non gmo feed at Russell feed store!! They just started carrying it. The cheapest option is to buy the bulk grains and mix it yourself. That is what I was doing. But it is so much easier to just buy feed. :)

That teddy bear looks ill...but it might just be those cowboy colors on it. Clean him up with a texans logo and he will be right as rain! :)

We got some rain over the night. Not super hot out but its got to be like 200% humidity out.

But cleaned out the brooder this morning, all the babies is appy! If all goes well they will be moving outside this weekend

I participated in our little towns Farmers Market today & the humidity was about to kill everyone. :( We got just enough rain early this morning to fill the pot holes in the road out of our place

My computer says it's 88* here, it is overcast outside right now. Our garden is not doing too well now with all this heat, I didn't have any tomatoes left to sell, the squash bugs are destroying them, I had Poblano peppers, Bell peppers & a few cucumbers this week along with the eggs I had left after supplying my regular customers during the week. :)

We haven't had any problem with coccidiosis using a little apple cider vinegar in the water.

At what point are they dying - few days after hatch, later on?  Are you finding them dead in any particular place like a nest box or corner or are they everywhere just keeled over?

both in and around the nest box for the most recent clutch. But the past has been all over...
