X2 You go Lisa!

Ok so I had 4 clutches of chicks. All hatched by broodies! The mortality rate. Is crazy! Out of maybe 30 hatched, maybe 13 are left! What can I use to help their survival rate? Cocci might be the problem....
also what thread is everyone talkin bout?

We haven't had any problem with coccidiosis using a little apple cider vinegar in the water.

At what point are they dying - few days after hatch, later on? Are you finding them dead in any particular place like a nest box or corner or are they everywhere just keeled over?

Yay Finally got a chance to do some updating on a laptop! I'm so happy that I can type normally. Get ready for a picture bomb as well.

Updates:

The house is almost complete upstairs, we are painting the walls and will soon be finishing the floor. Right now we are using boiled linseed oil to help restore the wood before we sand it all out and then finish sealing the wood.

The donkey pen has been mostly cleaned up and they now have good shelter.

The landlady has dropped off 37 birds to us to raise for meat. 7 died due to coons and whatnot, and 6 turned out to be hens. The rest are growing right along.

My cats have had their kittens and are scheduled to be spayed shortly. We are at a total of fourteen cats. Eeek. The three we had when we first got the place, plus two that we found on the side of the highway (seriously, they were still trying to nurse! Couldn't leave those babies there). Then the eleven they gave birth to, minus two that the other mom sat on and squished.

The turkeys are huge! I can't believe how big they have gotten. I do have to be careful becuase now my fingers are the size of tasty treats.

My husbands job cut his hours to make room for the managers son. He threw a fit to keep at least 32 hours a week, so they fired a saleslady and gave her hours to the managers son. We feel awful about that.

Now, photos! (in a moment after I transfer them all)
