Put up 4 silver pencil rock bantam roosters on July 1st. Fixed a few for lunch today,  Oh my it was slap your granny kinda good!!!! Put store bought chicken to shame. Probably should have grown them out a little more but they were really being annoying.

Yumm!!

Zootopia I checked my records (various sticky notes) and figured I got 2 chicks from that same seller out of 24. I new the eggs were terrible when I got them but just like you, I tried cuz I was out the money already. One of the chicks is very small still.

Yea, I was very disappointed that she would even send eggs like that to begin with. I would have been happy to wait. Dont know what causes it, I've seen a few off and on from my flock, but over half of the egg had some extent. Oh well, live and learn. I'll find them somewhere else.

I don't know! Have you ever bought eggs from there? I think they would arrive broken! My husband can't carry a dozen eggs from the back of the grocery to the checkout without breaking at least one!
I've had 2 batches of eggs shipped to me from Tennessee so far and both arrived unbroken. Of the first 14, 2 were infertile and 2 were scrambled. The rest are all in lockdown.

Never had any of those so here so not sure if it would or not.  I use topical ivomec once a year (Summer) and we never see anything on the birds.
I have been told ivomec won't do anything for lice since they eat feathers and skin, not blood :( I inherited a lice disaster and I am still fighting it. I am having to treat every 7 days till I am sure its gone.

That's all I have ever done on mine. But we have yet to see anything so haven't had to do anything else. Hope it stays that way...

Soak them in a dawn dish soap solution. Warn water and it should work wonders. You will also need to change tge bedding in ur coup and i would use some seven dust in your run or anywhere ur chickens have access to. A bit extreme but you can never havd those things gone soon enoigh

Sadly I've done all that and more :( Did a vinegar water bath, salt, vinegar and dawn bath, slathered in olive oil, all coops and runs emptied, DE out the wazoo, DE powdered birds, wood ash powdered birds, wood ash and DE in the runs. When nothing helped I gave in and tried Permethrin dust on the birds and coops. No effect. I got Permethrin 10 liquid and treated all the coops and runs with a pump sprayer and hand dipped all 49 birds :/ They were back to scratching like crazy within 2 days. I powdered some more. 7 days later I sprayed again. They are still scratching and there are eggs under their chins :(

Try ivermectin if you haven't. Not all lice suck blood but some do. I had new birds with lice. De wormed with ivermectin pouron, bout 1/4cc per big bird. Then dusted with Seven directly in bird. Repeat in 10 days. No lice. Also have no more scaley leg mites.

Wow. Seems like u got a good infestation! Might wanna bitr bullet and get some insectaside. As bad as that is, might be last option. We use DEMON for our bug problems here and it hasnt affected our aimals exposed to it.

Another option that ive heard from some old timers is smoke. When thwy would have bad infestations they would build a fire in the run. The smoke drives the bugs crazy then they have fresh ash to dig in...
