I truly did not mean to offend you or anyone else. I hope this thread does not get shut down. I like you guys. Why would you say this?

Italia please don't take offense to our discussion... We have different opinions and as opinions they are just that opinions. There is no wrong or right and they are as different as the individuals themselves its give and take their was on my side no offense given or applied and as I cannot talk for her I didn't take her as trying to offend me. Just as a different opinion and I'm sure she thinks she's correct as I think I am :D

Did you check out that BackYard Chicken Thread, "Processing Day Support Group~HELP us through the Emotions PLEASE!"? When I was in Grade 8, we were dissecting frogs. The science teacher thought dissecting pithed frogs would be a great idea. Let's just say, that whole episode left quite the impression on me. I, too, thought I could never do something like slaughter a chicken and that I would starve or die of malnutrition if I did. I just think morally, it is better to raise a happy chicken that has one bad day. It's an ethical issue with me. Before I got chickens, I was assured by the feed store that she knew someone who processes chickens for people. As soon as I bought the chickens, she let me know he didn't do it anymore. I looked high and low for someone to process them for me to no avail.

Where is this guy located?
I've got a friend how is a human medical doctor of Indian (country) background. He's offered to hold my hand when the time comes. My problem is I can't get my wife on board to kill the worthless silkies. We have one good broody who's raising 4 remaining of 6 EEs we got a few weeks ago and slipped under her at night.

We tried that with the other two silkies who've been nest sitting for a couple weeks on fake eggs last night. We got 4 chicks for each broody silkie but they aren't accepting the chicks, so now we have 8 chicks left to themselves out in the run. One of the 'broody' silkies has even been half-heartedly pecking at the new chicks (and old chicks). I suspect the 8 new chicks are going to be "adopted" by the original good broody silkie. I'm ready to butcher the other two worthless silkies. If they won't brood for me what dang good are they?!

Anyway, if you get out towards the Abilene area I'll ask my friend to "train" us by butchering your chickens! ;-)

I agree that different dogs act different ways but if you have been around dogs and understood them like you say you do then you have to also agree that when your relating a female to a male the thinking and actions are as different as apple and oranges and as you cannot judge an apple for turning red you cannot expect a female to act like a male... Unless their transgender! Lmao

Hi everyone, we've noticed that the discussion on this thread touched on politics for awhile. Just a quick reminder from the rules:

Thank you!

Hay sumi ( lmao your name keeps on wanting to come up as sumo on my auto correct!) that's way too funny not to post!!!

Those of you that use Craig's list to sell eggs or chickens, do you have people come to your house or meet them somewhere?

And do you give out your number to be called? I had a friend give his number out, the buyer was a no show and then he got a call from a lawyer about an auto accident that he was not involved in.

Had a guy recently want to buy a rooster and got mad when I would not drive an hour away to meet him... But most of the time craig's list seems to be the way to go.
