Texas

Off hand subject... Does anyone on here cook with stainless steal? And do you have any good tips on getting food not to stick?

Place some oil in the pan heat the pan on the stove until it begins to smoke and them let cool off before using. Be sure to smear the oil over the whole cooking surface (I used a paper towel to do this).
It will be like Teflon.

How much oil? Wipe it on with a cloth? Or just enough to coat the bottom?

Those of you that use Craig's list to sell eggs or chickens, do you have people come to you or meet them somewhere?
I have purchased chickens off craigslist, and it was generally understood that the purchaser travels to the seller, unless otherwise stated or the seller requests it (which it is then up to the seller to finally decide if that's a fair deal).

The eggs I have seen for sale on craigslist have the same general understanding.

I had a guy awhile back tell me it was too far away to drive to me and that I would be meeting him in the town he lived in. I'm fine with meeting people somewhere but this guy was an hour away. He got mad that I wouldn't do it but an hour each way for a $10 rooster wasn't a good deal for me... So was just wondering what some others did on this stuff. Thanks for the reply

Honestly that guy should have known it was a long shot and to get mad wasn't right you did the right thing if its not profitable to spend the gas and its out of your way then you have full discretion to say NO!

I believe it's commonly understood that the Buyers will meet the Sellers wherever the Sellers wish to meet. That is, the Seller can give their home address for the Buyer to meet there, or the Seller can choose to meet in a public place like a Starbucks or what-have-you.

Seller going to meet buyer is ONLY when Seller wishes to do so by negotiation. Any expectation that Seller should bend over backward for Buyer would be outside the norm.

If the guy wants you to drive 2 hours round-trip then (if you choose), offer to do that for an additional $25 delivery fee. It costs gas and time and you certainly don't have to do anything you don't want to do.

In chicken related, but wow I love texas! Back where I'm from my husband and I could not buy or own any type of gun because of my husbands training in the military! I would think that's a reason to give them a gun heck their trained arnt they? But alas they don't think that way but down here he gets a fast track to a CCL and we can have any type of riffle or shotgun we choose! Yah!!!

Thanks everyone for the dog and rooster advice. I have decided not to feed him today and keep him separate. He knows he is in trouble and that he can not be around everyone else and that is devastating for him.
As a dog training instructor with a veterinarian husband, I would not recommend punishing your dog now. They need to be caught in the act so they understand WHAT they did wrong. You can seriously injure a dog's temperment by punishing them later. It's like when you call a dog to you in order to scold/punish them. They start associating you calling them with punishment and then can start refusing to come to you. Which is a dangerous thing when you need them to come to you immediately in order to save their life or get them to stop and unwanted behavior and you call them to redirect their attention from say killing a chicken. Yes, there are times when you need to work with dogs to get them to understand that you are the boss and they must obey, but so far I've cringed seeing some of what has been suggested to you.

If you have not taken your dog to an obedience class, I strongly recommend it. And don't forget that dogs have to be worked with throughout their life, not just during an obedience class. They are like toddlers, they forget. You must work with them consistently in order to achieve the results you desire and get them to defy their instincts to be able to live in the human world with the behaviors and manners that you deem acceptable in your animal. The lack of consistency with working with pets is probably the biggest problem I see people make and then they wonder why the dog doesn't perform perfectly 100% of the time.
