Love this Texas weather one Christmas we are dressed in shorts other we are in thick coats freezing.

I actually don't have any chickens any more. I raised them for about 6 years through 4-H and FFA many years ago. Here just to learn more now. As I noticed a lot of my customers feed mealworms to their chickens. So what better place to learn more than the largest chicken forum online

BYC is definitely the place to learn! It's been awhile since I helped out with FFA or 4-H, but I think I know more now than I did in high school about my birds. Back then, my instructor would feed me this nonsense about my birds and now I can call him up and prove him wrong. I lost so many when following his advice, but I haven't lost more than three in the past year (and two were chicks predators got).

In the defense of my instructor, he's more of a goat man, haha!

Alright where the heck is uglychickens? Because my "ugly chickens" came in! Yep just got my Naked Necks, and then after unloading into the brooder box, noticed a non Naked (or is it Nekkid?

) Neck stowaway. I will get pictures; not sure what he or she is at the moment. So I got 16 NNs and a mystery bird bonus! Yay me.

Alright where the heck is uglychickens?  Because my "ugly chickens" came in!  Yep just got my Naked Necks, and then after unloading into the brooder box, noticed a non Naked (or is it Nekkid? ) Neck stowaway.  I will get pictures; not sure what he or she is at the moment.  So I got 16 NNs and a mystery bird bonus!  Yay me.  

Maybe it will have chick pattern baldness and lose its neck fluff later...

This is a Lavender Orpington chick that rubbed all of his feathers off eating out of the chick feeder. He is the only one that has ever done that. I call him Dr Phill

I don't think I could do NNs. I don't want to have to explain to everyone that there is nothing wrong with them, they are supposed to look that way.

Had a classmate drop me off yesterday and he saw our ginger thru the door. He let out a freaked out yelp "What the *$@¥ is that???" What? Her? Oh that's our neked neck, she's our best layer and original stock we started with! Want one? He said he didn't want his FIL to try to shoot the buzzard in the coop!
