Texas

BEAUTIFUL day! Opened the house up, has not gotten over 70 inside. Cleaned out my closet, it was so nice to put ALL XL in the give away pile. Went from 4 totes and a packed closest to 1 and half totes and room in my closet. Took my 4 hours to got through everything!!! Next is the kids clothes.
Yes, it's nice how the crisp fall weather is energizing. Sorting through old clothes is one of my least favorite things to do, but a day like to makes it bearable.

I have a sick chick this morning. ME!

There is a terrible pain in my stomach and I thought it was from eating the cabbage in the soup (I'll let you figure that one out), but it has persisted all night long and nothing seems to relieve it.

Does food poisoning cause pain? Not cramps, but pain? I'm a little nauseous but under control Everyone else at the dinner is fine but I had 1/2 cup of cabbage and broth, cold, after they left.

I have been on a strict diet but cabbage is on the list of acceptable foods.

I am glad you are feeling better.

On our Texas Master Naturalist aquatic life field trip yesterday, we got up close and personal with more than aquatic life.

I am glad you didn't step on him. Whew! Once you see one you sure won't forget what it looks like.

Yep, I call it my new way of eating, LOL! As of yesterday I hit the 30 pound weight loss mark. I was able to do the same thing when I was on Medifast, but the huge difference is, I am never hungry and I don't feel like I am giving anything up, so I really think this is going to sick. LOVE it!!!!

It was 43* at our place this morning-still feels cold in our old 1938 house

Our house was built in 1922. When we bought the place, it was listed as being built in the '40s!!

Congratulations! It's terrific when you reach the point that you can call it a lifestyle choice rather than a diet. It is much more likely to stick.

question: I have 2 hens about 17-19 weeks, a LegHorn and a Barred Rock. I'd like to add a Araucana in Dec that will be about 15-17 weeks when I get her. Will she be ok with the others that will be around 25-27 weeks by then? Also, is it a ok to buy pullets on line or is it best to go to where they sell them and you pick?

It is always best to introduce 2 or more hens to a group that already knows each other. A single girl into a group will, in general, get picked on no matter what the age. As for buying girls, either works, just depends on the breeder, either can be good or bad. Look for healthy birds with clear alert eyes. If you don't see that don't buy!

Good morning!!

Little Chicken - congrats on joining the American Silkie Bantam Club! I saw it on your facebook page.

Well, I'm off to HEB to get some groceries and if I'm REAL good, I get to come home and do laundry!!
