Tammy dear, If the clothes are not dirty, just hang them up ... a few days ... and they are as good as new ....hahaha.

Ok what is up! My 20 week old EE is showing no signs of laying and my 18 week old BO started laying last Friday. I thought EE's started laying early. Needless to say, come spring time I will be buying teenagers or layers, no more chicks for this chick, I'm too impatient! Lol

My EE'rs are usually the first to lay. You must be doing something wrong.

..........................................................KIDDING!!!!!!

My grandmother did that and she got angry when I went to wear one of her dresses to church and I told her it smelled like armpit.

....I firmly believe you grow immune to the smell of your own stink.....literally AND figuratively.
LOL. My mother had to do that as a kid and so growing up she made sure that anything we wore for even the tiniest amount of time had to be put into the laundry because she had always thought that re-wearing clothes was disgusting.

People way-back-when didn't have as many clothes as we have now and it was a lot harder to wash clothes, so I can understand why if it wasn't physically dirty looking they hung it up and wore it again. They also wore aprons and sleeve protectors to keep their clothing from getting outwardly dirty.

I love much of the "old ways" but I must admit I prefer nice clean clothes EVERY time I wear them.

Hmph - my EEs are 29 weeks old and I haven't gotten a single egg from any of them yet. (I have 12 EE pullets...) Yes, 29 whole weeks and no colored eggs. My husband is convinced they're defective.

To be fair my whole flock has been on strike for the last month though... A couple of my other birds just started laying again this past week, so maybe - *fingers crossed* - the EEs will start laying soon.

Don't tell me this! I have three-week-old EEs and my DH might eat them if they wait that long to lay :)
