I did 47 miles today. Burned 909 calories - Maybe more since my Garmin doesn't take headwinds into consideration. Boy was it windy today!

Well, so far so good with not removing broody and chicks from the flock. 

I never had problems when I stuck chicks under broody hens. I have a very small, docile flock. Now 7

I never knew how great having chickens could be.. I'm addicted now! I'm definitely gonna check out your book, also

Side note, if anyone on here hasn't heard about Sweet Peeps Chicks in Round Rock, I can't recommend them highly enough! Catherine is just awesome. She has some beautiful chickens out there, including those amazing silver/gold spangled Spitzhaubens (I think that's how you spell it). I got Phantom and Polka Dot from her, and just yesterday, I picked up a gorgeous week old white Silkie to keep my newly hatched baby company. Oh, and a pair of baby Seramas.. Because I'm weak, and once I saw them, I couldn't help myself.

Lemme put it to you all this way... I live over an hour away from her, and there are plenty of other places to get chicks/chickens almost within walking distance. I go to her every time, because she puts so much love into what she does, and it shows. I couldn't be happier

I will have to check out Sweet Peeps Chicks in the Spring.Round Rocks about an hour for me. I have never added an adult hen. Does she sell chicks?

I got 3 chicks from her yesterday, and I picked up Phantom from her when he was about 10 days old.
