Texas

Hey, everybody! Just got caught up on the thread. I was out all day today, exploring the wonders of Boerne, enjoying some thrifty shopping and finally, getting my muscovies! I have to thank MiRanchito for being amazing and selling me a few of his. They are beautiful and I can't wait to introduce them to their new home tomorrow afternoon.

Also, someone was mentioning wyandottes and I thought I would mention that M&T Rabbitry and Poultry Farm in Lytle is currently selling female gold-laced Wyandotte chicks for $3.50 each. I may get a couple tomorrow when I purchase quail.

And also, just because I thought it would be a cool thing to mention, he's selling week old emu chicks! I kinda just want to see them because baby emus are adorable, but I'll refrain from embarrassing myself, haha! :D

Emus...that would be some biiggg poop

Do you eat the aloe vera leave ? In Asia, many foods are made of the leave. They believe it can cure many things including liver cancer. I had a friend taking it daily in his last month.. and still died. He died 4 days before Chinese NY so his memorial is coming up. Time to send an email to his family.

I don't eat them but I use the insides for medicinal purposes like cuts and burns.

So, apparently my BOs are abnormally huge.

They do look big.  They must have hatched from large eggs.

I was going to suggest you breed for size but then I saw this article.  I only skimmed it.

I'm pretty sure they are hatchery birds. I bought them in a "I don't want them any more so take all 3" chick bundle for a SLW. I don't plan on breeding them, I don't like them lol. They are my husbands birds, well, let me rephrase. My husband owns a palomino horse, and these are the horses palomino chickens.

We got home safe and sound! My new gold laced wyandotte chicks are nice and toasty warm inside my room, enjoying the heat of a lamp after the long trip. I had to give them some ACV and a pinch of electrolyte powder to make sure they were perked up, but I think they'll be fine.

I really enjoyed the trip and it was a nice break from being trapped in the house. I'm ready to start painting again! Tomorrow, I think I'll get to work, but for now, I'm exhausted.
