Hey Hens, since you're in Liberty Hill, will you let me know if you see a house on an acre or more for rent? I'm in Georgetown now and need more space for my chickens (and roosters). Or if anyone sees anything in the Liberty Hill, Georgetown, Hutto, etc.... my chickens have needs! :cd
You can also use vinegar to clean.
Don't use DE in the coop if you are doing deep liter. It will kill the nematodes you want to break down the waste.
Where are they located?
I saw a sign just up the road. I'll get the # next time I go by if the sign is still up.
Dog gone it is still pouring rain here. I know we can always use the water, but better spacing out would be nice. I'm not gonna be able to do anything in my garden for another week or more, I had tomatoes and squash planted this time last year. Five of my birds were out of the yard this morning and got soaked. Couldn't get back over the fence I guess. My little catalana was so wet, she wasn't much bigger than a pigeon. They're all ok now, silly birds.
You should check out the Deep Litter method. I know there are some who don't like it, but I do and am glad I switched over! Check out these forums:We don't leave the litter in the coops more than 2 days. It is constantly being changed, As you know, 4 birds can put out a lot of poop as they roost. In 2 days it is ready to be cleaned.
