Yes, I will take this one......
Yep, a most beautiful chicken that lays dark brown eggs. Some look like chocolate.

I found out that the ones in TN will work. Hatch day is Sunday. Shipping on Monday!!

It is going to be a loooonnngggg next few days until these chicks get here. This is almost as bad as waiting for my boys to arrive when I was pregnant.
and a couple of this one....

I need a cream legbar roo......

and two of these.....

I will be getting all of them next week. Cream legbar, Light Sussex, BCM's and (hopefully) the Ameraucana. :)

I love Olive Eggers. Eggs are a darker green.

I think I may go out there on M/T. I need to call them. Otherwise it will be Th/F next week.

Edit: Tuesday morning.

So I've got until Tuesday to see if I can sneak another one in there...lol

I have already been dying for the cream Legbar..... I mean I have to have those and now the BCMs they look like my Tuscan Roosters in my kitchen. and I haven't seen the Olive egger but I have to have it for the egg. Help me P~L~E~A~S~E!!!!

I can drive up there.... its not that far! But I have to have these before Tuesday..... if they are here before hubby gets home.... what can he do but accept. LOL

Wow everyone's getting birds or hatching and I'm just here staring at my chicks waiting on August to roll around so I can start collecting fresh eggs. Yummyyy.

I wish I could find a good enough excuse to make a trip to McKinney and get some if those gorgeous BCMs I keep seeing pictures of.

Also, does anyone in east Texas a have a spare Gander? A friend of mine has a lonely hen. Not sure the breed and she doesn't care she just wants another goose.

Update on things around the farm!! - The puppies are finally weaned. They shared an egg breakfast with the preteens in the shed this morning and spent the day following me around while I patched fence line. My horses are notorious escape artists and my Mustang made pushed over 100 or so feet of rotten boards with one bump of her chest. That was exciting. DF got home from work this morning and came racing in to tell me how proud he was of catching Mama... It was cute. But I had to fix the fence after he was in bed. Stay at home wife has turned into stay at home do-everything... Fence mender, coop builder, animal Care taker, and I'm also in charge of clearing out all of the yaupon and pine I want gone.... But it's coming along nicely!! Wish I had before pictures, but I'll post some after pictures next week.... You just have to pretend you remember not being able to see from the front fence top the horses pasture. ;-)

The babies got to spend a little time outside today while it was nice. They had a blast! Had some tiny chicken football going on over a few crickets. It was adorable. Preteens go into their big girl coop Monday. It's almost ready!!! Yay!!

Wow you sound like me.... The Do It All Mommy!! lol

It has taken me 3 hours to catch up on this thread. Wow. I take time to clean out my fridge, take a ride with my daughter to the bakery and order her wedding cake and search for hours for Mom's TV remote. (Aliens must have beamed it up) and a few of the day to day stuff and BYC Texas blows up.
Hello newbies. Hallaleuh MsJellybean on your chicken order. ClovisMan please get a pic of the Bobcat. Wondering if I can do mealworm farm. This morning a big old hawk came flying down at my girls and scared the bejeebees out of me. They scattered under trees and I was left standing in it's path. I wish I had a video of that. I was waving my arms and jumping up and down screaming. I imagine that bird flew off thinking "what the heck was that".
Beautiful dog, I can't take it. I will be looking for a 3 wheel bike.
Whew!!!!!

They look like pullets to me--no long pointed hackles, saddle feathers and I don't see any sickle feathers in the tails.
Ok, thank you. Guess I'm going to change the white ones name. When we first got the grown birds, we thought they were sex linked which would have made the white one a roo, hence the name Henry. lol The other is already named Henrietta...don't know she might always be Henry. Alas, another misnamed bird.

LOL my husband named one of our RIR Henrietta, she had white wings and he just loved it..... but as it turns out she is a he so now he is Mostly Slow Joe...... My sons named the males. He is very good with the names.

Well, I just don't know what to do! Since Lucy passed on to Chicken Heaven, I have room for 1-3 more chickens...they will be squished at night if I get 3 more but it's all good! I want a Maran-but no chicks, just not set up for chicks, but no one has Maran's that are juveniles. Murray Mc murray has some Cuckoo Maran's but the shipping is 75$ for ONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Does anyone know where I could get a nice chocolate egg layer (or two), 15-20 weeks, close by?? I'd even travel up to an hour, but not really more than that. Don't want them that bad. UGH
And I don't want them bad enough for 75$ shipping. I don't have a husband who would kill me but I'd kill myself at that poor choice of money management!!!
Even the hatchery close by only has 1 week old chicks.

Seriously??? $100 for a chicken? I just could not justify that. I mean, I guess I understand to the ones who want to breed and show these beautiful birds, but no way for this practical gal. LOL
After I watched my white legbar literally die in a few hours for no apparent reason (I am sure there was one, I just had not time to figure it out before she was dead) I don't think I could ever pay more than 20 for a chicken.
