Another thing about Polish that your friend should know is that their skull is "vaulted" like skull "A" below. They really do have holes in the top of their skulls, and because of that are a little more delicate and susceptible to injury than normal chickens are. I had no idea that Polish were so, well, deformed when I got them. Their inability to see makes them a bit more flighty. If I don't pull the tape up the feathers in my little Polish in my avatar, she has trouble finding food. It is very sad to see her when she can't see--she'll jerk her head about to try to flick her top knot out of her face so she can see for a brief moment. Because their vision is so impeded, they make very poor free range candidates.
