She meant comb, she is talking about dubbing I believe, usually done in colder weather to reduce the chance of frostbite. Originally dubbing was done on the "working" game chickens so they were not obstructed during the event.

ETA: it is also a requirement for some show breeds, old English game LF come to mind.
Really? Wow! Would it not be very painful? Learn more everyday on here.

I know what the spurs are, but what is the cone?  I don't know rooster anatomy.

Oh yummy. I need to make some bread so I can have an egg sandwich. I have been wanting to make oatmeal bread but haven't had time.
I need to compare the posted recipe with the one I already have. I think they are almost the same. Very yummy bread.
Watermelon is great for cooling down hot hens in the summer.  Get it super cold, cut it in half and serve. :)  The seeds are even good for them too.
that was suppose to say comb dang spell check lol

right that is what I told hubby I told him I didnt want it done and I wanted to leave it alone but he said that it was bad cause something about mesqitoes and there eggs idk but I dont want to hurt him. I think the spurs are bad enough but I dont want him to have spura incase he accidentally get out and one of my other roosters do to I dont want them to hurt each other I hate to see them fight. So I dont want tyem to have spurs to hurt each other.

Yeah, that's what I figured :/

Auto correct: it happens to the best of us!
That's why I avoid posting on my phone now, if I can lol
I just creep on my phone
just so yall know I love my roosters and I would never do anything to hurt them and I am totally against all that rooster fighting stuff it makes me sick to my stomache to think that those poor babies go through that. And that is why I havent let hubby cut his comb I see no need for it.

Well, our gang of little ones didn't get their first day on the ground. the sun never really came out and it's tried to mist rain from time to time, Maybe tomorrow, but they sure did enjoy their egg treat. Waited to see who was the bravest to try it first. Was one of the Marans. Once they figured it ws good to eat...it was on! They chased each other trying to grab pieces from each other. Love my peepers!!
