Wow 44 post in 24 hours!! Well I got all of them read! Welcome to the new people on the forum. I got home very late last night or should I say early this morning around 3:30am. Not sure if I could live that close to a big city. On another note how often do they have the trades day in conroe? I know it's next Sunday I believe is it only on Sunday ?

Yes it is only on Sunday. They have it on the first Sunday in May and the first Sunday in October each year.

Ok, I'm setting eggs today...

I'm going with a dry hatch again. I wish I knew what went wrong last time so I could try and fix it this time.

Just sharing my opinion. We are too dry out here for dry hatch. People who have great success with it that I have talked to live in areas that are not semi arid like us. Please don't be offended. its just my opinion and can be ignored with no hard feelings.

No hard feelings, not offended! What humidity level do you keep your hatches at for the first 18 days and then 'lockdown'? I'm 100% for trying something different this time since I know something went wrong last time, I just don't know what. The only change I had planned on this time so far was to lay the eggs down for hatching instead of putting them in cartons. I know that a lot of people have success with hatching while in cartons but I'm wondering if mine had a hard time getting into position? If there are any with crazy air cells, since 1/2 of the eggs are shipped eggs, I might leave them standing up.

I had a bad hatch with only 1 out of 10 hatching. They were shipped eggs. The one that hatched was in a carton.

I have a brinsea mini advance and won't do a dry hatch in it again. When I do a dry hatch, I find that the eggs end up getting shrink wrapped. I had to help 2-3 in my most recent hatch because of the membranes drying onto the chicks. You might consider that your eggs were shrink wrapped rather than it being a shipped versus non-shipped issue.

So I take it the. There are a lot of people selling there then?

I have never been, but from what I hear, there are alot. Not as much as in the past, but quite a few. I was going to get a booth to try to get people to see my run panels, but timing didn't work out.
Sorry it took so long to get back to you, but was busy building a coop for a lady.
