Let's just hope, that if they are re-homed again, it sticks this time!
The man I am considering is a good guy with lots of yard. He already has some ducks, and 1 Roman Tufted gosling. He was very impressed with how tame the gosling was when he got it from me. Says his youngest son is head over heels in love with it and his 2 older boys play with it a lot as well. He doesn't have any crested ducks at all, which is why he wants one for his son. That and he has a goose with a tuft on its head, guess he and his kids now have a thing for crested or tufted poultry, lol.. Pekins are very common here, so he could get one anywhere. But he know I take good care of my animals and I have something he wants. So he is willing to buy Howard to get at least 1 crested.

Does anyone know of any waterfowl feed out there?
Sounds like a good family & a good new home for Howard & Loudmouth. I'm excited for them!![]()
Me too, but I hate that it's costing me a crested. Daisy spends time with Ebony in the mornings until both have laid their eggs, then rejoins the white ducks. ivory and Loudmouth are always together with Howard bringing up the rear. No matter which crested I send with Howard I will be breaking a friendship. The only consolation I have is that Howard will have Loudmouth, who thinks he is just the handsomest drake ever. And that Ivory will still have Daisy while Ebony gets 2 ducklings.
And Daisy, despite laying eggs, still thinks she is a drake, she still mounts the other girls and refuses Howard's advances.
Mine are over 16 weeks and STILL do it. I've noticed the pattern, it's all pecking order. Is it normal for chickens (hens) to chase each other around? No real pecking is happening but 1-2 of my hens chase the other 3 scaredy cats around. They are around 14 weeks. I feel like I should separate the two that do this but that would mean building a new coop/pen. I feel so bad for my 3 girls that are just so scared all the time though. Is this normal chicken behavior and I am just over thinking it?
"Johnn" on the Buff Orpington thread put a picture up and it had a Black Jersey Giant Rooster in it...I just fell in loveAll this talk about ducks...I did a yahoo search on Cayuga ducks...Wow they are beautiful...especially the drakes. Wikipedia had some good info on them. See y'all saved me from making some mistakes! I thought I wanted Pekins. I just love white ducks and little yellow duckies! But I think Ebony is so pretty. The iridescent color is so gorgeous...that's why I want black chickens too.
I LOVE Orpingtons. If you're interested, check out SD Ranch in Farmersville. They have some gorgeous birds. Now, I went to Montgomery County Trade days looking for EE's. My wife went with me and fell in love with some Lavender Orpingtons. I told her I would not get anymore birds, unless they were LO's.I have to make this clear, She did not demand this or order me to dothis. This was my decision, I also fell in love with them. Here lately, I haven't had time to do any research. Can someone give me the scoop on Lavender Orpingtons??
The lady I bought some chicks from in Decatur also has goats, ut I think they're Nubian.I'm looking for a pygmy goat a little baby girl does anyone know anyone close to N. Texas selling one??
If you want a guaranteed pullet, blue layer, look at Cream Legbars. They're pretty birds andHey y'all! I am in Houston and looking for a blue, green or olive egg layer for sale. I can't have a rooster so must be accurately sexed and preferably 8-12 weeks old. Love anything flashy, barred or unusually colored. Project birds are awesome! A Silkied Ameraucana would be a dream come true. A picture would be appreciated.
Congrats to him!!!Nite. Off to Oklahoma tomorrow for my 1st grandson's high school graduation. Yea!!!!
Wow, you guys got lucky! We had some winds and a few 5 minutes drizzles but nothing more. We needed the rain too.So much for me complaining about not getting any rain. Last night we got a short, but powerful, storm. It tore a big, healthy branch off of one of our Chinese Tallow trees. Part of the branch fell within feet of the coop...Whew!
Luckily, The Ladies were in their coop when it happened...since they love eating Chinese Tallow leaves, we'll let them graze on their fallen branch a while.

The other, larger, part of the branch fell in the main part of our yard & landed on my clotheslines. The clotheslines pulled a couple of the fence boards down a bit (will need to be hammered back into place), but otherwise nothing else was damaged. Yay!
