Texas

I know you are in San Antonio. I will be in Del Valle whenever Therry is ready to let go of the pup. Dang, I need to come up with a name for her. Sorry, my brain is racing. Whenever I come down there, I would like to meet with this WWII patriot, and you of course. May have to make it a 2 day trip. Have to get someone to check on my ladies, sorry, brain racing again. Maybe we can make some arrangements. My wife will be with me and also my German Shepard, Katy.

Let me know when and I will see what I can arrange. Also, Henry is very eccentric. He told the fire Marshall when asked if he did reloading of his firearms, yes I'm a terrorist! Lol. He has a strange sense of humor.

He can also, from what he said, trace his linage back to people on the Nina, the Pinta, and the Santa Maria.

I already love the guy!! He is cut from the same cloth my dad is!!

He takes some getting used to. When I was younger he gave me the creeps. Always petting my tattoos and asking if, when I die could he have them. He used to offer to trade his stumpy foot for my Indian armband tattoo. Now, I am older and it don't bother me at all. It's just who he is, he is deaf, diabetic, very strange, but a decent man. He likes being alone, is a huge conspiracy theorist, loves gardening and feeding every stray cat he can find. I figure being a sailor in WW2 has earned him the right to be strange.

Yeah, that does sound strange, but you are also right, he has earned the right. My Grandpa came back a little strange also. When I was bad, which was often, he would lock me in the cellar. Never hurt or abuse me, let me out when it was bedtime. Taught me a lot. Grandpa was a good man, as I told you before, he was at the Normandy invasion. That messed a lot of soldiers minds and we didn't know how to deal with it back then. We still don't, but we are getting closer, as long as we don't let politics get involved!!

Politics messes everything up.
Anyway, the guy who interviewed me said the story would run at 9PM tonight. On Fox 29 San Antonio. Dont know if it will air in other cities or not. I was feeling very sick to my stomach before, during, and even now after the interview, thinking about it. I just hope I don't look too green on camera. The last thing I want is to look bad and turn people off from helping Henry. I'd feel awful if my nervousness caused me to mess this up for him.

My flock is settling down in their new coop nicely. They will spend the night in there. Tomorrow I will finish the coop they are spending the night in tonight, because we have more storms heading this way Monday and Tuesday. So my flock will be moved back in on those days to protect them from the storms.

How's everything going on the Texas thread? Is anyone getting their gardens going? I put it off and now I'm regretting it. There are so many Texas-sized weeds and now I have to pull them out and burn the seeds so there is no chance of them growing again. It's the only natural way of preventing an influx of weeds once I get to work in the garden.

Anyone else starting late on their garden?

Don't worry about it, if people have it in their heart, they will help. I will go to their website "tomorrow" to watch the interview. I will try not to pick it apart...LOL.

I got half my garden in on time. I am trying to get the other half in. But things keep getting in the way so I may never get my full garden this year.

We got ours in a little late, and are fighting it all the way. Between the bugs and weeds, we are also pulling or hair out along with the weeds!!
