Very nice!!! Didn't get to plant any early stuff like that. What I am waiting for are those tomatoes. Like eggs...no comparison to what you buy in the store, they look like tomatoes...but don't taste much like one.
I agree 100%!!! Nothing like home grown tomatoes!

This ran has helped my garden so much
Looks really good! Ours looked like that a few years ago. I can't do a big garden any more. The bending over would kill me!

My husband laughs cause after he tills it I kickoff my flip flops and walk around in it and pull weeds. He says it is funny cause I am the only one he knows who refuses to wear shoes in our garden. I told him there aint no stickers only dirt
I used to do that too! Feels so good to walk in the fresh tilled dirt.

Are they good layers??
The answer to that seems to vary. They are supposed to lay around 180-260 L to XL brown eggs annually. Some have said that they lay smaller than that. More on the L side not many XL. They are one of the oldest chicken breeds and my family used to have nothing but them!

Dirt I can handle and old chicken poo well as long as it is dry heck it all comes off in shower with alittle soap lol. I hardly ever wear shoes in summer time so I am sure that is the least bad stuff I step in I just probably dont relize it.

I'd walk barefoot in our yard if I could. But we have a few patches of sticker burrs that I am trying to kill off. We also have gravel but that don't bother me too much. But there is a lot of fresh goose, duck, and chicken poo in my grass. So no barefoot for me, that's just a little too gross having that squish between my toes.... Think I'll pass lol.

Neighbor has a Roo, says its a very nice bird. It's big, gentle with the ladies, has a weird sounding crow like something is stuck in its throat, and he is pretty. That's all I know about him. Lol

Thanks, I have some rabbit cages that this guy wants. All i want is $100.00 for them, well worth it, but he wants to trade me 4 of these birds and a little cash for the cages. I did a little research, but I was betting the best research place was right here.

Guess it depends on how old they are, sex, how well they were taken care of, and most importantly if YOU want them. I know you wanted lavender Orps before you got any other chickens. So you will have to decide if they are worth it to you. Lavender Orps aren't cheap.

This was Ebony the night of the storm. It was only supposed to be her and the 2 goslings in the make shift nursery, but the chicks let themselves in. So she had a whole lot of company, lol.

Bird snuggles! So cute!
