Texas

No roosters in McKinney, Texas? That place is so small, if you blink, you'll miss it. I have been through there three times. I swear it is smaller than here. But, then again, I live in the county, so I can shoot outside, and have livestock.
Yeah it's unfortunate. But we rented the house before we got into chickens.
Now I'm, checking the ordinances before I move anywhere else. Lol
There are some parts of McKinney that are growing. I'm just lucky I'm not in an HOA

Just got the call my Lakenvelders and Kraienkoppe are coming two weeks early. Enter me madly throwing together a coop for the BAs and BRs.... Now they're out of the baby pen and in the big kid pen. I hope there's enough of them to keep warm, I haven't weaned them off of heat yet. Woops!!!

I second that rooster I love the fact I can hunt deer from my back porch
The problem is they love to march around in the wood/gully behind my house only when it isn't deer season. So, off to the deer lease again next year.

I am glad you are getting your farm back.

I was good till my neighbor let his idiot plumber go out and hunt his land now there are 3 feeders going off 5 times a day twice after dark so the deer went nocturnal on me..

Our deer come through on schedule, I know its just the deer in the morning. Sometimes, though, there's evil lurking in the darkness as I do my morning rounds. Even when the dogs bark and chase it, my hair still raises as I open coops. I think its coyotes, but its quiet.

Whatever it is when its around, the deer aren't. Creeps me out.

That is why I don't go out without a pistol. When your hair raises up, trust the instinct.

On mornings like that I leave the birds up a while longer... My pistol is out of commission. Bad sorting, and my .22 isn't on a sling.
Have you considered a Glock? They are ugly as sin, but really reliable. A .40 should do everything you need to do.
