Flood. I wasn't ready for that much water and the hens always make like a nest type on the floor so it fill up with water first i put them inside the house this morning (the ones that survive ) they're doing well

I'm so glad to hear the remaining survivors are well. I get flash flood flow in my yard, and will take a careful look at my coop site during the next hard rain...

I went through that as well, a good three years ago. Ask your doctor about sprionalactone. I am probably butchering the spelling. What it does is keep the potassium in your body so you don't urinate it out. I almost died before I found the simple solution Potassium makes your muscles work, too little and all your muscles stop working, including your ticker. It is a simple tiny pill, and doesn't tear up your stomach like the potassium pills do.

I will certainly ask. Just had an appointment today so I will have to wait another month. We upped some meds, dropped a few. Going to check out something with one of my hands that seems off. The rest is just brain injury and waiting on it to heal. I wish it would hurry. I hate how slow (read feeling like I am a drunk fool) I get towards the evening.

So the flood took out my grow out pen so all the babies are in the house. Goat and chicks! My living room could double for a miniature barn. Lol! And more rain to come! Arg!!!

I think I heard a happy rumor that the arrow feed is getting their chicks either the 16th ot 17th. But I could be mixed up. I hope I'm not because I am soooo excited! I have been waiting for my little easter eggers! So a barnyard my living room will remain! :)

My bantam pullet started acting odd last week. I thought maybe she broke a leg so I put her on lock down by herself but now it looks like she just can't control her legs right. I'm going to try to post a video to see if anyone can tell me what might be going on. She is eating and drinking but she just isn't moving right at all. She is still bright and alert and so sweet.

ETA I posted a video over in the emergencies, diseases and (forgot the other part) forum. Hopefully someone over there will know what to do for the poor little girl.

Stelle do I need to call you Noah?

Lol, sometimes it feels like that. My yard is a swamp so where I thought would be a good place for a grow out pen was not. That was also where I thought a nice place for a goat pen would be. I don't want them to get icky feet. So everyone is inside, including the dog that lives with the goat because the goat can't be lonely since his brother died.

I'll be happy to have everyone out again, the smell isn't exactly nice in the mornings. Coffee, toast, funky chicken poo (the pen is too small for them since it was only meant to hold little chicks), goat urine. :)

ETA I wonder how Noah did it? That boat must have stunk!

Dunno. I've heard it was a crappy job.

For the tingling, I take potassium. It fixes that side effect completely. It just took a bit to figure out how much I needed to take to get rid of the tingly numbness.

And yes the milk jug is in place of a killing cone. To me it's easier to use because it's cheaper and you can always recycle one that's been used too much. I've only ever had trouble with on chicken that had a really big head. Then I just cut the top off so the hole would be a little bit bigger.

And dang that weather! My corn has been all blown over, a lot of my smaller plants either drowned or were just beaten to death with the hail. And more storms on the way! Yucky.

Thanks for the suggestion, will try to remember it for the future. Docs won't prescribe topirimate to me for the time being, of child-bearing age, they won't risk a lawsuit.

The weather is a bit ridiculous, but at least it has allowed us to find the best site for the coop. If we aren't getting the run-off from up the hill while it is raining here, we're getting it from the creek overflowing. Partially due to a new "bridge" that acts more like a dam. Today seems like it is just rain, and not major storms.

Here is a picture of my coop! I went from being close to tears because I couldn't use a circular saw to building a coop! I am quite a bit over budget, and I am planning on painting it dark gray, because I'm not too crazy about the current color.
And here are the inhabitants. They are staying in the coop in a Rubbermaid, and enjoyed the warm weekend playing in the run with my 5 year old.

BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE-U-TeeeeeeeFul!

One of my two SLW girls has had loose stool for a few days but was eating/drinking normally and was active. Yesterday, her rear was messy...no worms, no blood, no discharge, just diarrhea, so looked like vent gleet. Her comb was droopy and she was lethargic. I gave her (and the rest of the flock) some plain yogurt and added ACV to their water. Last night, she went to roost like normal. Went out this morning and she was dead. No crop issues, she wasn't eggbound but wasn't as heavy as she should have been. All my other girls are fine. Thoughts? Suggestions? Pretty bummed. :/
