Texas

We managed to survive with only a little rain, no hail and a lot of wind. The main body of the storm passed just north of us. But then, while driving home from town today this happened...this is what happens when a 30 pound wild turkey decides to fly in front of you while you are driving 70 miles per hour. The bird hit and got caught in my front right headlight and its body was slung back along the right side of the car where it destroyed the side view mirror (which is of course full of electronics). Guess I will have to watch more carefully for low flying turkeys...and make sure I have my Turkey stamp this season...

YIKES, that's some damage. I seem to recall last time I had a broken mirror they had to replace the WHOLE thing, electronics and all... hope the damage isn't too costly. Glad you're OK!

I am sure they will have to replace the entire thing, electronics and all. Plus the right front light will have to be replaces and it is one of those funny shaped things with ultra high beams, LED's and all that sort of stuff...daytime running lights that switch out for turn signals when you signal. I am sure it is not going to be cheap. That is why we have insurance after all.

You just reminded me of another option I will be staying away from the next time I buy a vehicle. Too expensive to mess with. Thinking I'm going to start buying nothing but used cars made prior to 1980.

Good idea. When I traded my truck for this Jeep I thought, WOW look at all that it does, everything but drive itself. What they call drive by wire because everything is controlled by computer. In reality just that much more to go wrong and be very expensive to fix. But it sure is a nice car to drive.

Yes, but his surprise only lasted a second, mine is still ongoing and will switch over to shock and stress when I get the repair estimate tomorrow...thank God for insurance.
I bet! Automobile things are ALWAYS expensive! Even if they are simple! Yea for insurance...until we have to make that monthly payment! Yikes!!

Tornado tore through town. However, despite some limbs being down, the chicken coops did fine. No losses, even laid eggs today. I guess I am a better builder than I thought.
