I know I talked to someone about buying some of their buff orpingtons, but I can't remember who and can no even figure out how to get to the private messages. I will try after this week end is over.
Those who know my story,know my 97 year old Mother has lived with me for about 6 years. May 28th she had stroke, at her age life ending stroke. We were able to keep her home an comfortable until she went to be Our Lord yesterday morning. Her funeral will be today, the day we had a gathering planned to celebrate Mom's 98 birthday. Life is what happens while you are busy making plans.
Tomorrow we have a baby shower for my daughter who is having a baby girl in August (Mom's birth month). She will be named Ruby E. After her great grandmother.

Sorry for your loss. It hurts loosing a mother! Mine lived with me for 4 years before passing away from a stroke. I still miss her!

First of all, my condolences to you and your family. But it is a beautiful example of the circle of life that your granddaughter will be born so close to your mother's birthday. So for second, congratulations to you and your family.

:Lucky me, I have one remaining from 'first import' -- Know someone in Cuero that has a couple. The ones hatched here this spring have the 'first import' characteristics and they are chicks from my one remaining first import hen and a blue male that I got from Omega Hills. All have the ultra dark eyes. Then I have two that I got from Cree57i in TN as chicks...one male and one female. She has focused on first import from different sources -- these two are unrelated to mine. My first import female is laying eggs with very fragile shells. My Omega Hills female is off lay -- and all the rest are too young -- or I could offer you eggs. I just took Blue Roo off yesterday -- the females were avoiding him and hanging out in the coop-hut all the time.

The females other than the two older ones are all too young to lay -- it will be a couple of months. (I have too many roos as well -- but don't want to part with any of them -- two because they have endearing personalities and one because he has no relationship to any here except maybe the female I got from Cree57i at the same time.

Sounds like you need some females....anyone else around have Silverudd's Blue Isbars? I hear that Cree57i has overstock -- but concerns that temps are too hot now to do any shipping of chickens.......

Our Texas Sage is blooming. I have always heard that means the rain is ending.

This will be interesting to see. Ours has lost all of its leaves and no blooms yet. It seems to do this every year.

My condolences to you and your family on the loss of your mother. What a long a wonderful life 97 years. You are blessed to have had her with you all this time. I can not fathom the loss. Know that she is dancing with the angels now and trust that you will see her again one day.
