I have two girls doing the "stomp and squat" now! Problem is, they have been totally DESTROYING the nest box over the past two days!! I have ceramic eggs and they seem to not want those or the hay in there. Any advice on what to do?

My ducks do this, upsets me to no end. I will find the ceramic egg a LONG way away from where it should be! I guess they roll it out of their box and away (I wonder if they roll it or carry it? They move it out of the dog crate that I have their box in.). The hay is always covering their eggs (which are dirty). I have to dig (being careful that there aren't any snakes in this hay) around the area for the eggs. If you figure out what to do, let me know! LOL

Anyone interested in a 15 wk.old EE rooster? I already have his father and I don't need another rooster. His father is a gentleman and is a good provider/protector. He is FREE.

He is beautiful!

Lost our beautiful "big red" wheaten blue Ameraucana rooster and hen to heat today.

I'm pretty much convinced that I'm raising a flock of divas! I'm not only dealing with this, but have been through several brands of feed before finding one that is "acceptable." It also has to be slightly dampened for them! I'm planning to divide the box into three 12x12 nests rather than the two 18x12 for a more cozy feel...

Have you tried to ferment their feed?
It makes it an oatmeal type consistency.

I'm not quite sure how to do that. I just switch between the wet and dry pellets every few days to keep them satisfied.

I have to say, I'm glad I found this Big V brand feed. The girls don't waste it and are looking better than ever!

VERY easy.....
