Will Way, don't think I am crazy now and don't tell anyone I do this. I will pick up my hens and massage the throat or gullet, it helps them break up their food and I think they like it. I also rub their combs and the red things under their jaw, you can put a chicken to sleep that way. I can go out to the pasture right now and 20 chickens want to hop in my lap. Got a Red Sex Link that will fly up on my shoulder from 20' away. This place is a zoo.

No they are all still here. I am looking to sell of the Chocolate Orpington flock to reduce the flocks. My favorites that I plan on keeping are the Blue Americanas and the Coronation Sussex.

it's been in the low 60 in the morning and high 70 to low 80 during day. They eat it sometimes but not always we clean chicken Run twice a week, idk I just think they sound mad or maybe they just want out more
Can you fence off an area around the coop, so they can have more room to run around?

This is how we fenced off their coop area - they live with the goats. (Yes, the goats are in the wheelbarrow.)

They never jump the fence, they have all their needs met in this area, plus they are safe. So they stay in it.

Whew! Got 24 eggs on day 18 lockdown. Last time I candled them, there were 2 that were iffy, but all the rest were pretty solid and heavy! My usual result is about 50-60%, so that's what I was aiming for. Not sure what I'm going to do if I get over 20.

Anyway, started setting up the brooder for the new peeps. :)

I'm still trying to get funds together. Hope to be able to buy end of October if you still have any left
