Texas

I actually put in an order with them today. I had been thinking about it and just went for it.
That hen really is just stuck on sitting. I put her on the ground and she doesn't stand. I push her with my toe out the door. She walks outside all stressed out, scratches around for about 25 seconds, sits in the dirt until I get out of the way and then hits the nest box... she is persistent considering she just turned 6 months old about 10 days ago.
I did say I really wanted a broody. Lol.
So I ordered 8 chicks. First available shipping date was listed as this Wed, the 11th, but it said they may not all be available so to await a call. I figure I'll call tomorrow to see which ones are available and just take those.
Let us know what you decide to get!

I'm super excited. It doesn't matter how many you have, or have had before. And I expect "hatchery quality" so won't be disappointed by lack of standards; I couldn't care less. Soooo, I ordered:
1 dark and 1 light brahma
1 black jersey giant
1 California white
1 Ameracauna (yes, EE, I know. No explanations required)
1 naked neck
1 dark brown egg layer
1 silver-gray dorking
Yay! I'll let you know what actually arrives.

Hey all. I'm needing to find a new home in the Buda/Kyle TX area for our Marans cockerel Georgie. We aren't going to re-home Georgie right now, but when he starts crowing. When that time comes, we'd like to know if there's anyone in our area that is open to welcoming Georgie to their flock. We aren't asking for any payment, we simply can't keep roosters and want him to have a place for him to crow all he wants. He is a very nice boy, for now at least.

I don't want to keep anyone waiting too long and who knows if we'll be able to re-home him quickly if he really lets them out. But, I'd like to know our options.

Surprisingly, today was the big day!! Yaaaaay! Post office called me this morning. They were wonderful and made sure to keep them inside in a warm place.
They're all alive and well including my packing peanuts... or later chicken dinners. They're all super cute! I live in Stephenville during some of the week (non-traditional college student) and I'll be home with them on Friday and will attempt the swap. Fingers crossed.
Here is their very temporary home. I got the 8 I ordered and 5 "packing peanuts". So happy! Here is a pick of my first ever naked neck... and the silver gray dorking is the one looking at me. I ❤️ Chickens.
