I moved my flock from their very exposed metal chicken tractor to a new winter coop we built. Unfortunately during that last freeze we had, one of my Black Australorps got the tips of her comb frost bitten. We added more ventilation yesterday. It's cold here today 23*FHello my Texas chicken lives.how's everyones flock been doing this winter?
What I have set up for my girls is a shed that's completely covered and a bunch of hay. I have there roost lower to the ground so they can stay warmer. Plus we have a heating lamp inside there coop where or not they want under it it's placed above there perch.
Transport? That sounds pretty cool
I'm about 1/2 an hour north of peckadoodle, I would be willing to make a run north, if we can get a few more in between...lol
) I've already ordered more, and will get them in April, tho... 1 BR cockerel, 2 more RIR, 3 Sex Links, and 2 Cuckoo Maran's. I can't wait! 
I've lost quite a bit as well.... Our lovely neighbors decided it's okay to have there dog run 1/2 block down the hwy and it killed 3 of our chicks. One red sex link hen and two giants. Which one was a male and I was planning on breeding gaints too. :-( but I still have my 2 sex links and white rocks and only one giant. My first batch was buff, Ausltrop, EE, and my red. Then got a mixture again and they was the ones I just said earlier.I currently have 2 RIR and 2 Black Sex Links. (I used to have a total of 8
now I'm hopping to get a roo buff and roo white Rock with my 26 chicks in February.
