I think you can do tile but have to have a strong sub-floor. Not sure???Just curious....our house is on block and beam. I would love to have tile, but think the movement of the house would cause the tile to crack. Is my thinking dumb?

Block, beam and tile here without issues. Especially since the ground moves a lot between the moist winters and dry summers. We have winter-spring mud and summer concrete for ground but appreciate the tile. In summer it is nice because it is cool but in winter it sucks because it is cold. Cold water from the tap, in the shower, just generally cold below 50F. Regardless, the tile is nice for cleaning, I just wish it insulated better in the cold months.
I know some people put the in floor radiant heat under the tile. I have no idea on the cost for that. In our house we sold, it had "toe heaters" installed under the vanities. I could turn them on prior to bath time & the tile was nice & toastyBlock, beam and tile here without issues. Especially since the ground moves a lot between the moist winters and dry summers. I am just curious Jenny as I have 3 roos to 5 Hens myself. I plan on using a spanish thing I have seen in my neighborhood to keep the guys from hurting each other or my hens by tethering them by a foot. Neither my wife or I want to give any of our animals away and fortunately our breed has a breeding season, after which they are expected to settle down their hormones. We just don't trust anyone not to eat them or try using them for other purposes.
Have you considered something similar?

In Germany it was their primary heating for the house during winter. I still don't think it made economical sense.I know some people put the in floor radiant heat under the tile.
