Yes the people who give directions by landmarks!
Or local names for things as if you magically know what they're talking about. Oh she went to the valley. What valley?
Or the ones who tell you that they're from some small town in the middle of nowhere (cause Texas is huge) and when you ask where that is they mention some other slightly bigger town close by... That you still don't recognize! I still think they're making up some of these names.

It gets even worse in north Texas. People can't even pronounce the names of the cities right! Alvord(Alvoid) Bowie(Bouie) and a few others there near wise county come to mind.

Tell me about it, I grew up in North Texas. The city of Melissa, pronounced by locals as Melissi. City of Anna, pronounced Anner! Celina, Celini.... then there's Mexia...pronounced Mehaya! that only locals or long time Texans know how to pronounce right.

I was so confused when that explosion West Texas happened. The news keep saying that West Texas was on fire and I was like the whole thing? Took me a minute to figure out I was wrong!

I guess some people may have rooster rescues...they may also use them for dinner.

Well if you do ever make it down 35 to West, Tx be sure to exit and stop at those gas stations they make some really awesome travel food in their Colaches. I could never pass up the sausage and cheese jalapino ones!

I've been through there a few times since then and I agree the travel food is awesome! (Although I'm allergic to capsaicin so the only peppers I can eat are bell peppers). I guess I was just used to growing up in Florida (Altamonte springs, just north of Orlando) where most towns are named native American words and the streets after fruits and flowers!
