Way to go! Hoping for a great hatch!

Thanks for the curse @RUNuts all 17/18 hatched, the only one that did not was clear at the 7 day mark and removed at 12 days. These were all transported by auto, not via the mail and I did not rest the eggs before setting them. I had counted in 20% losses for transport and 20% for incubation!

Oh well 17 I guess is fine too, plus still I know that some may fail to thrive once they have absorbed their yolk sacks. My last order of 10 that made it in one night had 3 die by day 3. Also the Sumatra roo had a very late term demise after spurring me between the eyes.

You have babies coming out if your ears! Is the coop done?

Looks almost as bad as when I had mohs surgery for basal cell cancer on my nose+ skin graft to fill in the low spots.

Folks please use sun block, wide brimmed hats etc. for any parts you don't want to loose to skin cancer. Not fun at all. Noses are common & ear lobes. Hugh Jackman the actor had 3 surgeries on nose, all around the same place. Of course being from the sun damage capital of the world -Australia- what can you do?

Dr. told me it can take many years before it shows up. The more bad burns the sooner it shows up.

I am so glad I could help! I'll be setting 40-ish eggs next week. Feel free to curse me right back! Same conditions. Auto transport from local source. Prompt setting on the first for 22nd hatchlings. I hoping for 5 hens! Chicken math. Sounds like you did it right!

So happy you pulled through all of that experience, who else is there to needle around here for advice? yes, skin cancer is absolutely one of the most aggressive forms of cancer. So if you are putting off a visit to the Dr. DON'T.

Coop is still unchanged at the moment, as my workman had placed two poles 10 inches offset from where they needed to be. I have a guy coming tomorrow to correct the first guys issue, also money had been tight for materials(I have tons of lumber to repurpose except for some 4x4s and looking light on the hurricane straping payday commeth soon!). I am at the point where I can do my framing work, have everything else that I need except the person lined up to paint in my Texas flags on either the roof and two sides, roof only or roof and the side facing the street.
