Texas

I (in the heart of the Hill Country) am also having what I consider to be an Abbie-Normal :D number of flies in my barn! Glad to hear someone else has this problem, so hopefully not a function of my management. Going through fly-traps like underwear.

And, yes, "cold front" was welcome to my chooks yesterday here, too! Bertha didn't pant or hold wings askance at all! Still tolerable this a.m. when the farrier came to shoe my oldster gelding. We might be lucky to stay in the high 80's the entire week!

It's NUTS. There are SOOO many. I put traps out yesterday and they are nearly full..there were flies all over the branches near it. I have a small dog door and I have been fighting them in my house too.

Regarding flies there are some natural organic controls. I don't know if I bookmarked them but will look into my browser history and see if I can point you into the right direction. I am assuming you are talking about those green sheen looking flies right?

Late edit I didn't find it in my history or bookmarks as coop flies have not been a big issue for me. HOWEVER, if you do some searching on BYC you will get the same result I did long ago.

Ok so I don't want to malign Don Johnson Jeep but they have really messed up my Jeep. I gave it to them under warranty repair, they have caused more problems than they have fixed. However when your 4x4 becomes a 4x2 a customer should have the right to complain. Additionally, 3 months to fix a simple transmission issue........ I don't know if I should use my Google local guide status vs. Jeep Corporate complaint process to make them do right.
BOTH simoltaniously. Game over for stealerships.

I did do the Jeep Corporate complaint. The only reason I took in my Wrangler is it is a manual and wouldn't stay in reverse you had to man handle that gear to keep it there. Well they kinda fixed it but not really because you have to man handle it into gear now and get the "clunk" but it will then stay in gear. In the process of fixing it they also returned it to me with every gear shift lever disassembled. Later when my wife needed 4x4 in a super bad rain storm and was aquaplaning we discovered they hadn't reconnected the linkage for the transfer case to switch between 4x2-4x4H-4x4L. So back it went they reconeccted the linkage but I never left the lot as I tested it and discovered it would go to 4x4H but not 4x4L. This saga started in March 2020, and is still ongoing.

I am now betting the hill assist(brakes hold until you accelerate so it doesn't roll backwards) thing is broken now once I get it back supposedly today at noon. NM I texted the service manager and told him that feature better be tested before I pick it up. I really hate driving in Brownsville people there are incapable of reading the speed limit signs and for me it it so frustrating to drive 35 in a 50.

Hey...so I'm getting my new chicks next week...Plan to keep them in the garage for a few weeks but then was thinking about moving them out to the run in their brooder so the other chickens can get used to them before I let them out. Nights are very warm and days are well...hell...so I'm thinking they would be ok with additional heat after a few weeks? Any input very welcome.
I’ve had my chicks for the past week, but I’ve just been keeping an eye on them. But come 12, usually ive been turning off my heat lamp. And them back on at 11-1 before I go to bed.
