Not even chicken related: MIL and FIL hold a grudge against me because I could only take a couple of days worth of MIL's insulting behavior before responding in kind. Trust me I did everything I could to deescalate it. They are supposedly going to send DW Christmas money for the first time in about 5 years now. FIL demanded an apology from DW for my behavior at DD's wedding because I hurt someones feelings. We had been completely cut off but we only get half of what every other family member gets, too funny! I could give a rats back side blowhole about it.

I just hope the next time she is back at her Florida home she mouths off to a Police Officer like that. I wish a tazering on that lady for her mouth even after all of these years, or a Psyche hold and passport confiscation until the disorderly conduct charges are resolved. Much more I would like to say but leaving it alone.

36°F here, calm, sun just peeked out above the horizon. All my pheasants have started their daily routine of acting crazy, flying, jumping up and down from perches all around their respective pens..... you'd think they were on crack! :gig

My family is broken. We are on this earth to reproduce. Raise our young, and turn them loose. No species, except possibly elephants, have "family" units.
We are a herd species, we like being around other people. People same mindset, values as us.
People is not family. Look at family as people you just met, do you "like" them? Do they fit your herd? If so, treat them as friends. If not, walk away. I try to treat everyone fairly, and with respect.I EXPECT THE SAME. if I'm not treated with respect, I walk away, not mad or upset, I know that person does not have a high regard for me as a person, and doesn't want me in their herd. I have a daughter that does not respect me, she has her life i have mine. Mine is better off without her in it. Quit treating inlaws/parents/children as family. Decide who your friends are.
Be happy
Life is good

Are pheasants "hard" to manage? What causes you to keep pheasant?

I would suggest because they are beautiful birds. That would be my rational for keeping them. The Lady Amhearsts are surely worth a gander. I wish he was not 4 hours away from me as I would love seeing @007Sean pheasants. It would be like a free visit to the zoo for me except for the shoe sanitizing part before entering his property oh well price of admission.

If I ever branch out into exotics (step 1):

(Step 2) see if I can tolerate the noise of living with guineas. I love video number 2 them telling those Polish? Stay away from our food.
