Regardless of how the inspection sticker is issued, I just don't get them for my cars. I had one second hand car that I drove for 6 months, maybe more and didn't have it registered or have a license plate on the car either. I did get the car registered and a license plate because I was going out of state to stay with a very sick, dear friend.

Texas has the law situated to block renewal of registration without passing inspections.Just don't get an inspection sticker. I owned my Z-3 for about 15 years and never put an inspection sticker on the wind shield. I don't know why, but I just don't like inspection stickers. I have rarely had an inspection sticker on my windshield, and then it was usually expired.
