Very sorry to hear about pets going to The Rainbow Bridge. What a way to start a new year....:hit I lost Wilma, my EE, one night many years ago. Horrible. Next day she showed up when I opened the barn door. It was one of the most joyous occasions I'd ever experienced. I hope the same for the little bantam hen.

For all of them we have trained them to be safe and feel comfortable one our arms. 4 years on and the senior flock are totally cool with it… especially at night when they don’t get into the coop in time before it gets dark.

Step up with flashlight shining towards the arm being offered and they calmly climb aboard and are calmly talkative when I gently cradle them with the free hand against my chest when walking them around and in through the human door and usually will hop right onto the roosting rail or edge of the poop box. A few of the newest batch are a wee bit feral but, still will stand on my arm for transport at night.
