I I don't know what it is like where you are but we are out on open farm land and it blows like there is no tomorrow. 40 mile an hour winds not uncommon...... and hot. Las summer I would take the hose into the coop and spray the chickens and the floor.. (concrete). The first few times they would run.. then it got so hot they looked forward to it and just stood there getting sprayed. ... My coop has industrial fans and it was still 110 degrees inside... brutal

It gets toasty like that here, I'm about and hour and a half from you ENE. But not crazy windy all the time

Onyx laid her first egg today at 18 weeks

My black and lavender Ameraucana are finally laying. An dang Cackle's black Ameraucana lay some blue eggs. The lavender are true to Cackle's warning, they are very light.

I got them at the end of May. The Spitzhauben where laying before them and so where the Phoenix. Ameraucana take a while.

I drove through at least a quarter mile of dust storm today where I couldn't see past the hood of my car...

Also, hi from the panhandle. No, as far as I know I am not currently at risk due to the big fires. ... Yet.
