@sniper338 the search engine and I aren't on speaking terms right now. I found the thread about the birds you got in Jan/Feb of last yar, some of which were challenged by lice in September-ish, but I didn't see a post about you getting new birds about the same time as you were facing the lice. But the necroscopy said the birds were about 4 mo old? That's around the same time period...

am I doing bad math, was the vet wrong on age, or am I just not finding the right posts???

Y
Are you getting the additional testing?
Yes. Going to the the PCR done to find out more about what sound like a respiratory deal if have going on...

As far as the cecal worms... I need to worm my flock anyways, i know that... so i dont thinkna fecal float would be worth it.... be better to send in fresh poop anyways.

Im more interested in the symptoms point towards respiratory... because I knew that.... I didn't need a necropsy to know this much.

You would think several more test would be part of the necropsy. But ya gotta pay for everything it looks like.

I want to know a dang name of wtf I got going on. I feel like im getting beat around the bush on!!!

Your close. A year apart same month though. Even i didn't realize that. Sept 2024 and sept 2025. You're investigating well.

The ones that had lice and mites i got taken care of. All good now with that. I got em all cleaned up, they molted, new feathers came in... happy flock with them. Haven't had issues with any of then after that besides a dang egg eater!!!

These for this necropsy I gave em the DOB. I knew when they hatched.

Getting the PCR done.. I wanna know what respiratory infection it is...

Anemia from mites seemed an odd thing to be missed - just making sure the birds weren't challenged very young, which has long term consequences even after the original stressor has been resoled. Those first 8 weeks or so are critical.
Nope nope, not this batch.

Just sucks because I wanted good blue eggers... now all these legbars are rotten eggs. My goal was to do BCM and LB cross breeding for olive eggers.

Now im on my last hen I got to see what happens... but wouldn't you know it... the roo is not affected by any of this at all. He's running around being a roo, no issues. Only issues with the hens.

Looks like Ideal is doing a special pickup day today too:
