Texas

hiya's from Farmersville. Live next to Lake Lavon and starting up for chickens then add pigs maybe some small breed cows.
Always happy to chat.

Hey all fellow Texans, I've introduced myself before but haven't ever been active in this thread. I've got a couple questions for you though.

I'm in far NW San Antonio and looking to add to our flock this spring (sometime late March - Early May) but I'm looking for some specific breads of ducks and chickens. In the past I've ordered from My Pet Chicken and been 100% happy with the results, picked up one chicken semi-localy (Sadly didn't keep in my records where I bought her, but I remember it was somewhere north of Fredericksburg), and gotten some from our local feed store with mixed results. Since I'm looking for specific breeds I'd be inclined to order again, but my husband wants to try and find some more locally again (as far north as Austin and as far south as Poteet is our range). We'll be in Austin for the Funky Chicken Coop Tour in March (excited about this!) so that would be a perfect time, but really I'm not restricted to that schedule.

The Breads I'm looking for include the following:
Chickens:
Ancona
Andalusian
Araucanian
Buckeye
Lakenvelder
Leghorn (especially exchequer or white)
Marans
Minorca
Welsumnner
White Faced Black Spanish

Ducks:
Ancona
Appleyard
Magpie
Saxony
The above are my wish list but I'd also be happy with
khaki
Pekin

Does anyone know of a breeder/supplier, or personally breed any of these types of chickens or ducks. I'm only looking for two or three ducks total (maybe two female and one male?) and about six hens and one rooster total. I would really prefer to get all of them at the same time rather than deal with multiple hatches/broods. I am also willing to get an incubator and do hatching eggs although it's not ideal since I haven't totally sold my husband on the idea (he's convinced if we do that we'll end up with all roosters and have to find homes for them somewhere else or in our freezer).

Thanks for any and all help!

HAHA People sometimes think I'm this big racist and then I whip them up some killer handmade tortillas or tamales. And then new thing, Papusas. My hispanic friend Delia says mine are better than hers are lol.
