The Dorkings are easy to pick out

They look like little chipmunks!

I checked the rain gauge this morning and we got between 1/2 inch to 3/4 inch of rain. It was so wonderful smelling that rain comeing. The lightning was nice to especially knowing it wasn't going to start any fires when it hit ground. We got to much rain for that thank goodness. I hope for more rain and a fire free summer.

I let the older girls out of the chicken yard after we mowed yesterday. They had a blast bug hunting.

I finally got my Amerucanas to be still enough to get a decent picture of them.

Okay, I got some bad news. I was working on trying to help a little chick that had slipped tendon. He gave up on me yesterday. He was my husbands favorite chick, he personally would wake up through the night to take care of the little guy (which I can barely get him awake to go to work....). The chick went a whole day without water and had finally decided even food wasn't what he wanted. So I put him down today. I am sad but my husband is in tears.

I was wondering if anyone out there knew of someone that has black/dark brown chicks. I really would like to get him one. He thinks their little faces, "Are just too cute!" But he doesn't like the yellow colored chicks. I found some of those but he doesn't want one. He likes the darker colored chicks. And I don't want anymore from tsc. For one I don't want six more chicks! The most I could go is four. If anyone is around the Glen Rose, Granbury, Cleburne, Burleson areas and has dark colored chicks for sale please let me know. I am very much interested in buying. I hate seeing him this sad.

Okay, I need to find homes for 2 silver penciled Plymouth rocks hens. They have only been with an SPR Cock, so for the next month (give or take) they will lay pure eggs if you want to hatch. Willing to trade 2 bags of layer or game feed. This is a really good deal. They are direct from Dick Hortsman, however, while pretty, I can not say they are SQ since I don't show. The Cock is my fav boy, not "cuddly" but not aggressive and follows me around until I try to touch him. Safe with my kids. Willing to meet around the Austin Area. They were born March of last year, so just now hitting 1 year.

Just re-posting in case someone over looked this. I still have them. I can put on CL but wanted them to go to someone I "know", LOL! Come on, you know you want them

I would love them but talking my dh into a drive into Austin is sort of a challenge. He drives 5-6 days a week 8-10 hours per day. He really doesn't like getting into a vehicle on his day off. Though maybe if I could convince him, that we would get two beautiful hens... How much gas do you think it would take to get from Walnut Springs to wherever you would meet?

Edited to add, " On the members map, I am that dot that is all alone just south of Fort Worth."

Waco is roughly the halfway point.

Waco would be an almost 3 hour drive for me one way. Sorry, I could not got that far. Got baseball for my son every Saturday and Family stuff every Sunday for the next 2 months, UGGGG!!!! So it would have to be closer, the most I could do is a 1 hour trip, which would be 2 hours total.
