Just the hens, but they are laying fertile eggs, so for about month you can hatch from them.
Okay, I got some bad news. I was working on trying to help a little chick that had slipped tendon. He gave up on me yesterday. He was my husbands favorite chick, he personally would wake up through the night to take care of the little guy (which I can barely get him awake to go to work....). The chick went a whole day without water and had finally decided even food wasn't what he wanted. So I put him down today. I am sad but my husband is in tears.
I was wondering if anyone out there knew of someone that has black/dark brown chicks. I really would like to get him one. He thinks their little faces, "Are just too cute!" But he doesn't like the yellow colored chicks. I found some of those but he doesn't want one. He likes the darker colored chicks. And I don't want anymore from tsc. For one I don't want six more chicks! The most I could go is four. If anyone is around the Glen Rose, Granbury, Cleburne, Burleson areas and has dark colored chicks for sale please let me know. I am very much interested in buying. I hate seeing him this sad.

StelleKitten,
Maybe you could convince him to drive down to San Antonio for some cute little game bantams and just pick up the my girls while you are passing through.
Hrm, I might could. We are due for a road trip sometime, just to go see things. I'll talk to him when he comes home and see what he thinks about it. Might get his mind off things for a bit. It wouldn't be until Monday (his only day off this coming week).StelleKitten,

It's part of keeping chickens. I just wish I hadn't let him get so attached. :\ Next time (and I am sure there will be) I will be careful about letting him be around an iffy chick. His first chicken got out of the coop and was killed by a dog. It seems every chicken he has gotten attached to has had something happen to it. Dogs too. We got one and she jumped out of the window of our house (broke the glass and everything) and hit her head on the way down. She was special needs from then on. She got a brain injury and would have seizures every now and then. He just has bad luck with animals. This brought tears to my eyes, I am so sorry you guys have to go through this.
