I may have to try one of the keyhole gardens... most of the info on building them is pretty sketchy (everyone wants you to buy their book or pre-made garden.. lol)
But I think I figured out the basics

Let me know if you want some help. My girlfriend and I have built a couple for her over the years, so I have an ok idea on how to put them together.

Just re-posting in case someone over looked this.  I still have them.  I can put on CL but wanted them to go to someone I "know", LOL!  Come on, you know you want them :lau .

Do you still have the chickens? I am trying to purchase some laying hens but I'm north of Fort Worth :/. I would love to have chickens already established.

Where are you located? & I have a question for you on using the H & H in ff, have you found it to smell strange? I don't know if it's something in the ingredients but it doesn't have a particularly good smell

not dry but when fermenting
I saw this and had a comment on it, hope you don't mind even though it wasn't addressed to me. Maybe you were one of the ones who was in on the conversation about FF the H & H. I said I was going to try it because my girls would not eat the pelleted stuff, just the grains and seeds that are on the top. Well, I did try it, using Bragg's vinegar. I saw it bubbling a couple times that evening. Into it about 17 hours or so, I couldn't stand the odor it was giving off (sitting on my kitchen counter), so I decided to feed it to them right then and there. They slowly ate it, but they did eventually eat it by the next day. Haven't done it since as it stinks like poop and I don't think it's chicken poop. Anyway, the way I've finally ended up treating the problem, is to put the leftover feed that's in the feeder bowls into one hanging feeder and put it in the coop with them at night. When they get up in the morning being hungry and all, they eat it as they wait to be let out into the pen to eat their daily amount of fresh H & H layer. This is working well and they are not as ravenous when getting let out so there's much less squabbling between them trying to get to the food first, etc. It's working well and I'm happy with the feed. Going in the morning to get my second bag of H & H.

Tough day today...the dane got out of her kennel and made a mess of the house. My daughter cleaned up the mess. Then, one of the ducklings isn't looking to good...kinda lethargic, but still active. Then found one of our RIR hens, a terrific young layer, dead in the nesting box...looks like she prolapsed. And then, my wife cut her leg on a piece of broken glass. Probably could use a stitch or two, but steri-stripped it closed. What a day!!

Tough days r no fun. Hope tomorrow is easier.

I responded to her. I use H&H in my FF. It does smell - because the fish meal is fermenting. My birds eat it like crazy. I give it to them fresh, not leaving it out overnight. It's one of the down sides to fermenting anything with a meat by-product in it. And, the smell is even worse when you ferment actual meat itself.

Well, that 'splains it. It was rank. What was that old song, "Fish heads, fish head, roley poley fish heads. Fish heads, fish heads, eat 'em up, yum. Something like that.
