Elizabeth is so pretty tho! <3 Where did you get them from? They are cute.Thought I would give an update on my three ee's. Someone had requested pictures as they develop.
Catherine She has gained 1.5 oz since last week.
Cleopatra She has gained 2.5 oz since last week
Elizabeth She has gained 2 oz since last week
That picture of Elizabeth was a quick snap before she realized that my hand wasn't anywhere near her. As soon as she noticed she was off and trying to get across the room. She is the least social of all the birds.
I got these from the local feed store. They were the three most unique ones in the bunch so I grabbed them. Makes it sooo easy to tell who is who. The barred rocks? Lol, if I didn't have legbands on them I wouldn't have a clue.Elizabeth is so pretty tho! <3 Where did you get them from? They are cute.
I can on SLW. BLRW are much harder to sex.You can tell it is a cockerel already?!![]()
I'm really lucky - the guys at GTown PO are very careful with eggs. The only worries I have are the transit guys getting it here to GTown. The gal that delivers here was so careful with my eggs that she made me her first stop of the day to be sure no harm came to 'em. I'm shocked.mine are MIA in Austin.. no idea why it's the black hole for shipped eggs..hopefully they aren't sitting in a back room somewhere with the box strapped to a paint mixer.. *sighs* (seriously.. I think that's what they do at the Austin postal hub...)![]()
Try soda bottle with a chicken nipple stuck in the lid. Hang it however you need to based on your brooder set up and increase the height of it as they grow. No more spilled water in brooder is totally awesome.Cleaned out the brooder again (cat's mistook it for a litterbox). This time I decided to rearrange. I added a couple of small boxes of different heights. I added a new perch that sits on a diagonal so it's a little more challenging than the straight perch but it goes up higher. All in all I made it so they could have something different to do. The first thing they did when I put them back in the brooder? Bury themselves in the bedding, get 'lost' behind the box, and spill their water all over the place! I guess it's time for a bigger waterer that our fat chip chick can't knock over.![]()
