Very glad to hear that she's found her place.

Joyous (here on BYC) shipped them. I was a little concerned because when they arrived there wasn't a single intact air cell to be seen. I put them all in the egg turner and left them sitting upright and still for two days. On day three, I saw aircells - mostly where they should be. Two of them have their air cells off to the side, so I've angled the eggs a bit to try and see if I can't get it to shift to where I want it. **fingers crossed** Still a long, long way to go to live chicks; but, so far, so good.

I'll be counting the days with you. I am trying to learn more about shipped eggs and the information I have gleaned is rather disheartening. One person said buy twice as many as you plan on having. I really hope these little guys make it.

Dorkings are definitely available from Ideal....**laughs** I picked up a boxload of them last week from Ideal. Drove over and got them, didn't have them shipped. They are not high quality Dorkings, and who knows what could possibly in the mix besides Dorking....but, they do have them

The rest of the colouration on that one makes it very clearly not a Dorking; but, yeah - the eyeliner and chipmunk stripe are Dorking markings - along with five toes. But, like Yinepu said - lots of chicks have chipmunk style markings....the five toes are the clue for Dorkings.

That's what I was going with - so, I got 12 eggs. She shipped 16 because she is awesome like that.

Right now, I'm sitting here with potentially 13 viable eggs....**crosses fingers** She was saying she was having fertility issues, too. It seems that problem's been resolved!!

hairline cracks can be patched.. dents can be patched... you CAN fix a bad air cell with no problem.. but once the yolk is damaged there sin't anything you can do to make it develop

I have gotten 100% on some shipments.. and 0 on others


hairline cracks can be patched.. dents can be patched... you CAN fix a bad air cell with no problem.. but once the yolk is damaged there sin't anything you can do to make it develop

The postal service sucks at handling breakables. I had a pair of handpainted porcelain chopsticks that my Aunt was sending me. They had been around for ages. She packaged them in bubble wrap, packing peanuts, a box, more bubble wrap, more peanuts and another box. They still broke.... What were they doing with that box!?

hopefully they aren't sitting in a back room somewhere with the box strapped to a paint mixer.. *sighs* (seriously.. I think that's what they do at the Austin postal hub...)

Congrats on all the egg develoment guys! Hope they all hatch. <3 You have to send hatch day pictures!!!

On a side not, I had put up an add about Weiss for stud, I have already had 5 hits in three days @_@ Good lord. People have been interested and asking for pics so I sent those today and I am awaiting replies.

What do these baby chicks look like to you guys? The dark one a SLW? Someone on CL has unwanted easter babies already. I am thinking about picking them up if DH will let me.
