I'm still here Peeps, in Alvarado, I just don't talk much....or write much should I say.

Still raising turkeys, and my new passion this year is my Emu's.

Hello everyone, we lived in Houston (Heights) for 18 years and maintained our ranch in Iola on weekends for 15 years. It was just too hard to keep doing so we sold our house in Houston and now live full time on the ranch. My husband still works in Houston. We raise and show cutting horses, have a dairy goat, and have lots of chickens. We are mainly interested in Wyandottes, we have some nice young roos if anyone is looking for one. lol.

yea i get UGLY looks cause i dont speek spanish! i just look at them the same way and say right back...."IM SORRY WE SPEEK MERIKAN HERR IN MERIKA!!!" Yea that always goes smothly! my ols platoon sergent called me the self hatin mexican for not speakin (or wanting to learn) spanish..... yea we were all not so PC

You CRACK me up!!!!
Well see here's the problem:: My family and I moved here in 1969, when everyone here spoke nothing but English. NOW, I'm treated as the "newcomer" and the "outcast" because I, in my own home and my own neighborhood that I've lived in for a very long time don't seem to fit to THEM. Excuse me, I'm not learning a foreign language to be able to speak to my neighbors. It's incumbent on an immigrant from any country into any other country to learn THEIR language. I'm fed up. I just want to leave. That's not all of it, but when I get going, I get called a "racist." Sorry, Nationality isn't a Race.

PS - and can you believe I grew up in south Texas? And know what I'm dealing with, and have since a child? Yet, these "new" people, are beyond any help.
:clap

I'm going with Orps still and selling the house soon. Hope to get enough to follow my dream of having a country place with a real house (not a mobile home!) and 5+ acres. In any event, moving. Houston is OK and my neighborhood is great for people like me that want to do what I want, but I am just sick of the city. 1/2 acre of heaven if you speak Spanish, not so much if you don't and have been here for many many years.

Hello everyone! I'm from the Dallas area, over by Grapevine.

I tried hatching some eggs from a friend, but it looks like they may not make it. I absolutely love Wyandottes, anyone know some good places to find Gold or Silver laces chicks in the DFW area? I'd even be willing to make a day of it and drive to Austin or such for the little gals if I can find some!
check out wyandottesandrocks.com Ruth is close to Austin ;)
