Do you live in town? I can have pig's. But I have no restrictions and I love it out here.

no, we live 15 minutes from you. It's just our neighbor hood

They say no pigs
No garage sale
No RVs
You can't have more than one family in your house....etc.

My neighbor told me that's bull cra*! ( lol )

I think that too I mean seriously no garage sales??

I told my neighbor I mean if I bought a pig what would they do? Go search five acres? And it's not like they can take it away!

We have garage sales throughout our neighbor hood all the time, there's wild pigs so what's the difference??, and there's TWO people in our neighborhood that LIVE in RVs. So they obliviously don't care! Lol

I want a pig so bad! But a mini! Also, a mini mule/donkey!

  Now that's funny!  Makes you want to ask them if they would like a chair and some popcorn or a coke while they watch you work.

yea, it was creepy..,. When I was 7 I remember our neighbor. He would sit and just watch me and my sis play. And I don't mean look over or watch for a sec. I mean get a chair out and a cold coke! We would always go inside, but I felt bad because he was probably in his 80s.

This is very helpful, thank you. Luckily I have a few months before I move, so I think I can do it the right way as it were. I also unfortunately have to consider schools as I have a 4 & 5yr old. Anything that I should be warned about?

Don't know anything about the school districts up around where you need to be. My mother is an elementary school teacher in a small town here in TX and I have learned that if I had children to send to school - I would prefer they go to a small town/rural public school than a city school. The city schools may have more money, but I think the teachers try harder to do more with less at more "country" school districts. And they don't have quite as scary of problems like the bigger towns and the city schools have.

Love the snow pictures! I still miss snow. Although when we lived up north, I didn't care for having to dig the cars out of the snow before work after the early morning plows went through. But otherwise, I think snow is terrific! Now I'll go hide before the rest of the people try to "Gibbs smack" me.

Everyone down here is super friendly, everyone waves to each other.

When we lived outside of Austin, and near Bryan, and in E. TX where my family lives, everyone waved and did the "finger off the steering wheel" thing when you passed them on the road. But here so close to Dallas, we have noticed that people aren't as friendly like that. I think we have so many of these fancy subdivisions out here in the country where these people live and commute back into Dallas and so the people are more "city" people and aren't accustomed to the waving thing.

Oh come on down here, you can hang with us. Heck I live so far off the road people have to go thru 3 gates. I have two signs on the first gate IS THERE LIFE AFTER DEATH?? TRESPASS AND FIND OUT. THE SECOND SIGN NO TRESPASSING I OWN FIREARMS AND A BACKHOE. the other gate NO TRESPASSING ONLY THOSE WHOM BELIEVE IN REBIRTH SHOULD ENTER.

Hay do you remember when they sent ya'lls snow plows down here? That was cold, people were without electric for over a week, and water was hauled from neighbors. Yip that year I fell out the front door and broke my shoulder cuz dummy me did not realize Byrd had the porch pulled out to replace a 100 feet of water pipe. We stayed down below zero for a week.

Yep. That was mighty chilly for TX that year. Bad about the shoulder....I would not have been a happy camper.
