or if you are hoping for pullets Beyonce...

beyonce reminds me of bootylicious.... idk? juss sayin....
Can he stand up at all?  I can't really tell if he's just wry necked or if he's also splay legged

You can give him Vitamin E for the wry neck.. some people also add in selenium.. though there seems to be mixed views on it

Polyvisol (without iron) is also recommended.. but again.. there have been mixed results.. the main thing is to see if he can eat and drink at all on his own.. if not he would need the vitamins ASAP or he would risk slowly starving to death once the yolk is fully absorbed into his system and he has nothing else to live off of.
the sooner the vitamin E can get into him would be *hopefully* the sooner he would straighten out hence being able to eat on his own sooner instead of starving to death (didnt mean to make it that he would be able to live off of vitamins alone)

it can stand but when it trys to walk it just goes in circles! so where do i get these meds? and are they injections? or do i skwert it down its throat?
Skwert the vitamins down it's throat. Stick the eyedropper to the back of the mouth because the air opening is close to the front and you might kill it trying to help it if it sucks the stuff in there.

My experience with chicks that had to be helped out of an egg has always ended badly. None ever survived though others have had one make it.

I'm the same way.. my husband looks at me like I am insane when I get up in the middle of the night because I heard a fox or coyote out in the yard...
I can hear the chickens or geese at 2 AM even though they are on the North side of the barnyard and our bedroom is all the way on the other side facing South...

needless to say I don't sleep much.. and with a new puppy in the house I sleep even less

Goodness, you sound like me! I lost one of my precious geese two nights ago, so after building three new goose houses, trapping a wild cat.....and the geese are still screaming at night..yep, very lil sleep for this 'gal. LOL

I picked up Polyvisol (without iron) from the baby section of Walmart.. yours may have it over by the adult vitamins.. it's hard to say for sure.. so if you cannot find it in the baby section just ask someone

the Vitamin E and Selenium should be over in the adult vitamins.. pretty much any place that sells a multi vitamin SHOULD have Vitamin E.. selenium might be a little harder to find depending on how big their selection is

for the selenium I dissolved part of a tablet in water and just used a syringe to give it orally.. you would only need a teeny bit of the selenium

the vitamin E is a gelcap.. so just pierce the end and squirt a drop or two in the beak.. usually if you put it at the tip of the beak and the chick is strong they will suck it down.. otherwise you may have to open the beak manually

Sav-a-chick can be found at tractor supply.. avian vitamins can be bought online from any of the big hatcheries or poultry supply companies (just a few listed here):

Remember it's a tiny chick.. so a drop or two of each should be enough to start.. repeat the does every hour at first (for about 2 or three hours) then three or four times a day.. there really isn't a set dosing schedule with something like this.. so just try not to overdose the chick... but they can also sling it pretty far when they don't want it and shake their head.. so use your best judgement. Assuming the chick starts to recover continue dosing it for several days since relapses are pretty common

Also remember if you get any in the lungs it's pretty easy for them to aspirate on it.. so you can kill them pretty easily if you aren't careful (drowning them or they could end up with mechanical pneumonia)

edited to fix a typo... there are probably more but a "9" where it should have been a "(" was bothering me... lol

My husband wonders why I like birds so much since their squawking will wake me up...

I told him I need someone around to keep me company when he's deployed.. and it's much better than going out bar hopping. Plus I like the birds better than 99% of the people I have met!

Well I personally think all of my fluffy-butt hens are very bootylicious, but maybe that's just me! :)

I can't add to Yinepu's very well organized list of where to find the vitamins, but I can add that Vitamin E capsules are great to have on hand anyway for burns. If you burn yourself, break one open and spread it on the burn. That or aloe plant juice.

Good luck, but I second the thought that being helped out of the shell does not bode well for the future. Better you practice and try though.

:idunno Question: I keep checking for fertility in my 2 Wyandotte girls 10 months old around Valentines Day (the 2 W roo's are the same age) & they don't look fertile yet to me. How long does it take Wyandotte's to get going? They are being bred all the time but I don't think the times I've watched that those 2 boys have figured out the "right area" ,lol. Also how long after pullets start laying do their eggs finally get the size they'll end up being & I think I read where you shouldn't use pullet eggs for hatching? I'm dying to try to hatch some Dottes but don't want to waste my time & my AG broody's time either

are you checking for the bulls eye?.. if it's hard to tell for sure take a couple of the eggs and put them some place warm for a few days.. then crack open the eggs.. if they are fertile you will be able to tell for sure by looking at the yolk.. just don't leave them for too long or you may end up finding an embryo!
I've hatched out a lot of little pullet eggs with no issues.. the chicks are just a bit small.. but they catch up fast

I have always said, and well always say - precisely what my sig says LOL

I used to use alcohol to destress....but, then I got smart and got chickens instead ;-)
