You'd think my husband would have figured it out considering all my work he's seen, my family he's met, the fact that I lived on my own for the majority of the years before he ever met me. But, he's 25 years my senior and from an age when it was uncommon to have a two income home. The fact that I'm the "bread winner" sticks in his craw a bit - he's not about to give up being the go to guy for things that need to be done around the house that are considered 'manly' things. It's kinda endearing, but can be irritating when I have to wait for him to get around to it. A bit of a balancing act - but, it makes him happy.

Still kinda cranky with him not letting me use "his" jig saw. I've been in woodshops as long as I've been alive (minus one week)...I think I could handle it....but, noooooo he didn't want me to hurt myself.

Again, frustrating but endearing.

Once they start getting crazy enough to get bedding into the feeders, I switch over to my small 3 lb hanging feeders. Then I just raise the height of the feeder as they grow. Saves a lot of hassle.

Hi all. I'm here in the north east of dallas area. I am in a situation where my husband and I have (due to reasons I don't want to discuss online) sell our home and move to another state. I adore my chickens and wish I could take all of them with me but moving across the country with them would be a logistical nightmare and not to mention the stress on them would likely prove disastrous. I need to find new homes for my birds. They are pets and are spoiled rotten. We don't eat our birds so not all of our hens are laying but we adore them. We only have hens (no roos) and our replacement birds for the ones we lost over the past year (which are just babies) are SUPPOSEDLY all sexed as pullets... *we all know how that goes sometimes though!*.

If you look on my profile you will see TONS of pics of my birds. I am hoping to find people willing to give them pet homes. This is an EXTREMELY upsetting experience for me and for my husband. This place was our dream come true and we are just utterly sick about it. My birds basically all have names and Id like them to go to good homes. I'm willing to drive them to deliver them wherever they need to go just as long as we find good placements for them. They are (except for the week olds) 1 year and ~3 weeks old. No new birds in or out other than the new chicks who are isolated from the rest of the birds. We have around 35 adults and are willing to part with them as a group or as singles/little groups. But only to people who can legally have them in their area.

If you can take one/a few/all, please write me. Its important that I find them good pet placements.

Good morning everybody,
Hope y'all had a great weekend been busy here in fentress trying to get chores done. Well we lost our first chick Saturday night :(, but still not to bad considering we started with 65. We are on day 5 now and everybody else is doing good. Had a big scare yesterday morning though I walked outside and didn't see any chickens and got out a little further and saw why. Huge red tailed hawk sitting in the tree!!!!! Scared him off and in about 5 minutes all my girls came running out of hiding so thank goodness he didn't get anybody. :) gonna have to keep a good watch for a while! Well hope everybody has a good day.

We have two, huge hawks that roost in the area. We see them about every other morning sitting beside the coops and runs. They are so big that they wouldn't be able to sit under the coop. It's why I won't let them free-range unsupervised. So, they only get time outside their coops/runs when I can be home with them. Even then, they don't wander far from their coops. Heck, The Girls dash from their coop to the run, when I pull it away to give them free range time. They only come out and really wander around when Kirby (one of my dogs) is out there with them. Kinda funny, actually.

I'm so sorry that you lost one. What happened?
